Is there a way to not have to redo the keystone and scale settings each time you turn it on? Anyone found a firmware update or anything?

I have one but can get it to mirror direct from a modern Samsung phone without using a chromecast plugged in. Is it possible?
Yes you should be able too, I was using a Samsung 20 FE and it worked fine

I got the same unit today however, the led is red and can't seem to turn it on.. Will it need fully charged before it turns on?
Yes, it will need charging, but if it doesn't turn on, contact them immediately
Mines doing the same thing. Did you find a solution?
