I was at work when the January 2021 Game Stop thing happened i remember seeing the story drop while i was at work and i was like aint no way man WTF , also Fright Night(2011) never gets a shout out when people bring up Craig Gillespie's movies 😂😭
I saw Dumb Money this past Wednesday at an early access in my AMC. I really think this is a fun watch and definitely exceeded my expectations. I also agree Paul Dano stole the show. Continue doing the best content Sydney ✌.
The Big Short is one of my favorite movies of all time. As soon as I saw the previews for this movie when I saw Oppenheimer I thought of The Big Short. As well I think this will be the first "true story" movie I actually was around for and knew about the real story at the time it happened. Really excited to see this movie tomorrow.
Haven't seen Dumb Money but it feels like the biopic craze is trending more and more toward the unrefined and slapstick (by design). It's fine to embellish but I feel it's gone too far.
Totally agree, they’re put on a rushed timeline and don’t come from need, just capitalizing on the trend. Surefire way to get a bunch of middling movies
Now you mention Dark Waters briefly…. Skip this movie and watch Dark Waters again. Okay that movie maybe 4 years old now, but that movie has friggin’ impact. One of Ruffalo’s best movies. ✌🏻
You NEED to see the bollywood historical/drama "PADMAAVAT" next 😍 TRUST ME!! Also would suggest the family/drama "KAPOOR AND SONS". Both very different from Jawan ✨
I think one of my biggest sins is not seeing the big short yet lol I considered buying early on but didn't because I've promised myself never to get into the stock market haha still glad I didn't. Great review! Definitely more "yeah remember that?? Cool" instead of anything profound
The raw story was amusing, but the try-hard edginess annoyed me enough to give it two stars. I actually don't mind this trend of corporate biopic success stories because it has become a cliche for the wealthy to be subjects of scorn (rightfully so in many circumstances) all the time in cinema, and it's a nice change to portray them sympathetically when it's deserved to do so.
i loved this movie. i tend to love anytime a movie celebrates a win for the little guy. the way they wrote the billionaires in a satirical format was just awesome to watch. also enjoyed all the meta stuff, sometimes it can be a little cheesy but i enjoyed it here. one day we will agree on a movie lol

You left out Blackberry and The Beanie Bubble. Where do those land in the rankings?
Great review, Sydney! I still gotta check this one out.
I was in my geography class when this was happening.
Almost most pandemic themed movies are highly dated, lol.
If it has the Renegade in it go back to the drawing board lol

THANK YOU!! No one ever talks about it but that film is phenomenal… very harrowing and important

I wish I had stock in GameStop 2 years ago.
I've seen the film and I guess I missed it? Who made the cameo?
