Wheelchair cushions that rely on air technology are great for contouring to your body and distributing pressure, but they tend to need regular adjustment and some serious pumping.
Well, the Adjuster wheelchair cushion from The Comfort Company solves this problem with their proprietary Vicair Air Cell technology.
The cushion is divided into 5 compartments, each packed with pre-filled tetrahedronal air cells that conform to your body but don't need to be refilled.
Because of the simplicity of this technology, making positioning adjustments is as easy as removing air cells from one compartment and adding them to another until you get the right fit.
The Adjuster has separate rear and leg compartments along with a single medial band that can be used as an anti-thrust measure. And you can choose from the standard 3.5" thickness or a low profile 2.5" model if you don't need as much pressure relief.
The Comfort Company has a great range of cover options as well. Their Stretch-Air fabric is breathable and water resistant while their Comfort-Tek cover is extremely soft, water resistant, and easier to clean by hand.
At just over $300, the Adjuster is a great alternative to traditional air cushions with its super simple and low maintenance positioning options.
And if 5 compartments isn't enough to suit your positioning needs, be sure to check out the Adjuster's big brother, the Vector X, with its whopping 10 air cell compartments.
