Around the 3:25 to 4:00 mark I can hear the resemblance to Leaving On A Jet Plane (and the under the lyrics pushing to wards 5:00 mark). I am sure it was unintentional though.
If I hadn't heard of the lawsuit, I would never of thought of the two songs being similar. I love John Denver but I can only assume the lawsuit was just to get some headlines or something.
One OF THE HARDEST REMIXES TO FIND ON VYNIL AND CD. YOU TUBE HAS IT. YOU TUBE GOTS IT GOING ON. FROM DJ SYMBOL OR CDC . ONLY A FEW WERE MADE. GOOD JOB YOU TUBE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beats by Africa Bambataa on the sleeve note if I remember and it also said design (of the logo) after Bold (Washing up) God of a tune and perfect remix
@@happysappy21 Run 2 is much better than, "Leaving on a Jet Plane"? We all have our different tastes in music but you have lost your f***** mind. Denver won in court. If this song is so much better, what the devil did they need to use Denver's melody in it for, fool?
Im in Cyprus living the life had a great day sun tanning swimming in the warm water of the med....its paradise out here...im 48 now millienials wouldn't appreciate this quality of music but fuck them....this sounds as fresh now and as beautiful now as it did back in the day.......rolling sound work of art
Song just drones on with John Denver’s theme recurring. They could have thrown any aggregation of notes in there, and it would have still droned on monotonously and drawn no attention to plagiarism.
I hate the music industry. Listened to the John Denver song, and they are plenty different. Only so many chords and notes to work with. Just cuz something sounds similar doesn't mean stolen. Almost every work of art is based in the past. I think they just didn't want to waste money in court. If these songs are the same, every person who makes a movie or tv shoe should be sued...not much is truly one of a kind original anyway. But to think two musicians couldn't separately imagine the same few notes together is ludicrous. Laughed when I saw they had to give him a writing credit.
My favorite version of one of their best songs
I love NO soo much
Thanks to this song I have become a massive John Denver fan.
first time i heard this it blew my mind; was not expecting :)
It did mark a change for me!It was the confirmation of ecstasy couture!
Best band in the universe !
Great band New Order great sounds from my youth :)

That lawsuit was a load of crap. Two songs will always sound similar by melodic limitations in pop music.

I'm sure it was intentional. These guys are no talent hacks.
@@SleazyNice LOL. JOHN DENVER DIDNT HAVE TALENT FOR JET RIDING
IT WAS INTENTIONAL. BUT RUN IS WAYYY BETTER THAN CRAPPY COUNTRY SONG
If you're curious, look up Scott Litt, who's credited with the remix on this track (see above). He produced six of REM's most successful albums.

It's available on Technique CD Deluxe Edition from 2008!

This is the track John Denver tried to sue over. He claims a part is similar to "Leaving on a Jet Plane". It does have similar melody , in lyrics.
+steve hewitt they settled so there must have been something to it and it does sound very similar in sections.
I agree.
Technically, it was the publishing company, not Denver himself...
Publishing company won and now they receive the royalties

Masterpiece!
Yes "Leaving on Jet Plane" is a masterpiece.
Pure junk would be a better description for it.
Nice , new order

❤❤❤❤
1:22 to 1:36 makes John Denver furious
Thank you, I couldn't find the part, but that's it!
This is it. Fuck it was driving me nuts trying to figure out which part

the best
Had the t-shirt. By Bold
WHY DENVER SUED ABOUT RUN 2 AND NOT RUN 1 ?
Bass tone
I have this
These things do happen in music, however, I would have never heard of New Order if not for John Denver.
I had heard of them, but not this song. I like both this and the John Denver song.
I don't hear the similarities

show not shoe...won't let me edit comment on this phone...
The guitar bit sounds a bit like /reminds me of the solo on Bryan Adams "One Night Love Affair". That's not a slag. Both songs are great.
Take on Run 2 to catch him Attilah a Hans to go to the Prison*🤔
Maybe I'm deaf, but I don't hear anything like Leaving on a Jet Plane
Yes, they plagiarized it, got sued and lost.
YOU ARE NOT DEAF. YOU ARE TONE DEAF
It's the riff at 1:22
Settled
Comment ...
Both are great songs, but it’s totally absurd to think there are any musical similarities. Total nonsense.
Much more evident in the non-extended version.
I don't know why this song reminds me of Pink Floyd's guitar sound....
It reminds me of John Denver "Leaving On A Jet Plane"
I quite like New Order and this song, but they are certainly channeling John Denver.
I really disagree
