A very creative dial. This idea allows for a smooth pointer transition and offers a unique experience. In my projects I used a 100K precision potentiometer with multiple turns to cover the entire range from 0 to 100K. This enabled finer tuning; however, the time to sweep through the range is significantly longer. It is worth noting that the SI4825 has a very similar pinout to the SI4827 (which shares the same digital interface as the SI4844). Your project can easily be expanded with the SI4827, offering the possibility of adding an LCD or another display. The SI4844 library for Arduino works well with the SI4827.Nonetheless, thank you for sharing this great idea.

Very unique, I have never seen a meter movement used as a tuning dial, very cool, and I like the idea of pot for tuning and fine tuning. I have ordered a radio board that uses a similar chip the KT0936M.

You can dissasemble the meter and print a calibrated FM/AM/SW scale and glue it on top of the original meter scale.

Another beautifully designed and fabricated radio project. Thank you so much, Mirko, for showing it to us. Just curious....why did you limit the SW bandwidth, when you could have gone from 2.3 Mhz to 28.5 Mhz? I am guessing it was either difficulty with the potentiometers, or that the analogue dial couldn't encompass the full sweep....? Not that you miss too much action at both ends, really. Thanks.

    You can't make better labels?
