@@TwoTwoFourSix honesty IS a PR nightmare. Always has been. You have to lie and exaggerate to get everyone on board. That's the way it always has been and always will be.
Don't forget they're on treaded tyres, not slicks. Add the instant torque from the electric propulsion and that must be _very_ challenging to do. Which explains why the drivers are always crashing into each other.
This is absolutely not something specifically "Dutch" if it would mean honesty. The real Dutch bluntness is nothing to love. That's just being rude and "straight to the point" only when it suits you. Very hypocritical and dishonest people.
Agree. Great talent pool, the tracks are....... interesting. 😅 If the cars could be smaller and maybe a bit slower I think the racing would be more appealing to me, specifically. I always watch it when I can but I never go out of my way to follow it like F1.
Aa a Formula E fan, I totally agree about the jump at the Tokyo circuit. I mean, it was fun to watch the cars go over it, but no, that type of thing just does NOT belong in an open-wheel series
Its because long straights will discharge the battery super fast. Really I think it just makes the racing more interesting. For example the jump in this track means they have to run higher ride height which some cars wil handle better than others not like f1 where the same car wins every race
I get why Formula E doesn't do long circuits, but what i don't get is the everlasting-15ft-wide-Wacky-Races tracks. The cars have evolved, the speed, battery life and handling has been improved, but everytime you see them driving around, they're bumping, jumping and stuck behind each other because of the already mentioned ridiculous narrow track, surrounded by high walls. Let them race on a wider(yet shorter) track WITHOUT huge walls and popularity will increase because people will see it as a serious raceclass instead of the farce that it is now.
I'd love to see him race 3rd gen or 4th gen formula E and see how he matches up against others. Cars are oversteery, undergrippy, overpowered 4 wheel drive brutality of machines. On top of that the tyres are on purpose made to not induce too much grip so you have to have skill on all fronts and be blessed with an overly sensitive ass to sense the cars intention. :D

Apparently the cars themselves (apart from having only one gear) feel very similar to classic low-aero racecars
Well of course they do. They have to nurse the batteries to the finish line. Add some aero and drag and they don’t make it
But the sound is shit.
Every driver says how challenging they are to drive. Very physical and edgy
