I've only made 3. One of which was a redo of one of the first two that I tweaked to make better and easier to draw my knife from it. They aren't near what you're putting out, but they work and I'm proud of them. I'm learning
I've enjoyed it too. You wouldn't think you'd have a think so much about the design, but if you don't you'll be redoing one like i had to. Lol I get frustrated with myself when i make something for the 1st time and it doesn't come out perfect. I have to remind myself that it's all part of learning
@@nateand3 true that for sure. I just ripped apart my first sheath a week or so ago because I wasn’t happy with it. I’m planning on redoing that one soon! 👍
You are a very talented craftsman. I noticed a comment you made once about defending that maker of your grinder. Really shows who you are as a man. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ed! The Brodbeck grinder is some top notch equipment and those guys work hard to improve their product and everyone makes mistakes, it’s how you overcome them that matters. I think knifemaking is 50% problem solving in itself. 👍
Very well done, Love that Kukri. I'd be tempted to keep it for myself if i were you. A few of my builds were gifts and man once i was done i didn't want to gift them anymore lol
Nice job, Denis! They suit the two blades well. I love the design of the knife; what a gorgeous shape! I’ve only made 1 sheath, for my last knife, and I was pleased how it came out, but I did make 1 mistake, and that was slipping with the point of the burnishing tool, and it left a 3 inch score along the rear of the sheath. Fortunately I got most of it out. Great work, as ever! 🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
Man, I made a fold form copper leather lined sheath for a 🤔 26" khukuri a while back. Was super difficult to pull off! Have another but two handed.. this style seems less painful. Both Look great.
The sheaths look great! I really appreciate that you take the time to continue the tooling on the back of the sheaths as well. That is an attention to detail most people lack. What weight leather are you using?
I’m using 8-9 oz leather. I usually do more stamping over the entire sheath but I was keeping these a more more simple. Checkout my other sheath video and you’ll see what I mean. 👍. Thanks for watching!
What is your sheath process? Any favorite designs or techniques?

@@nateand3 I really like making sheaths and find it very different than knifemaking. In a good way. 😜

Ripped it up? Is that some tradition I don't know about? Lol i kept mine in case it works out for some other knife

Thanks so much! Some cool builds coming! 😜
Never knew the name of the Kukri knife and now I will make s sheath for it. Great tutorial thanks heaps.

Yeah, some are hard to part with. I do keep the swords though. 😉
Beautiful work man. I told you I'd watch this video. Took a few days but i got it done and I'm glad I did.
Thanks for checking it out, Nate! 👍
Actually both blades are amazing!
Thanks for checking them out!

Thanks Theo!

Thanks brother! Yeah that’s one issue with sheaths, it’s easy to slip up.
A work of art. Beautiful
Thanks so much, Michelle! I appreciate you watching and following along!
Between watching the forging and these, one thing sticks out, the meticulous attention to detail and fantastic craftsmanship. Good work as always
Thanks for checking the build out, Scott! 👍
Very Nice Denis 🤘I'm definitely looking forward to getting to this step of the craft. 😁
I fought against this one for awhile but now I love making sheaths. Give it a try and you’ll love it too. 👍.
Great looking sheathes! Cheers!
Thanks! I still have a few more to make but I don't think I'll video those. On to the mosaic damascus build!
The Kukri, is an absolutely gorgeous blade!! And the sheaths for both are amazing. Great work sir
Thanks. The kukri was popular at the show. 👍
Excellent work
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome work man
Thanks brother!

Wow, yours sounds beautiful though!
Tyrell Knifeworks it was, want to get better at doing them (silver soldering) part is the difficult portion.
Ugh, I hate silver soldering! Because I suck at it mostly. 😜
U are always perfect buddy...nyc job ...🤘
Thanks but I’m rarely perfect, but I recover from mistakes well. 😜
@@TyrellKnifeworks we all learn from mistakes😂😂😂
@@varunsingh3330 so true. Those that don’t are doomed to repeat them. 😜
I often make my sheats out of vintage looking lether. That's nice, because when I got a screch in to the sheat the build isn't ruind.

Great as usual. Where did the dragon scale stamp come from, would be a good addition. Black is king, hides many of my mistakes 😆.
Look in the description, all the links for equipment I use is there. 😉
Making cutout from cardboard will make it fit better than paper.
Thanks for the tip, Donald.
the little one how much does it cost?
It’ll be up on the Etsy shop later today. Check the description for a link. 👍
