02:00 This is the lite edition of century eggs. It's made of chicken eggs, looking brightly yellowish. The more notorious hardcore edition of century eggs are called song hua dan (literally, pine flower eggs). They look dark brown and green. In both cases, I'd recommend that you sprinkle some vinegar on sliced century eggs because the acid neutralizes the alkaline content of quicklime.
Urban eastern Europe and China aren't totally different either. I remember going to some neighborhoods in Split/Zagreb for the first time and seeing a carbon copy of the commie block apartments I grew up in in northern China that made me feel very at home. There are similar urban planning from the 60/70s in China that followed the Eastern European pattern and also some brutalist architecture in big cities where are still standing. They are slowly being overshadowed by the rapid development in the 2000s onward but there are still a lot of neighborhoods which remain frozen in time
I totally loved it when you blended into the deepest Chinese rural culture. This is a great video I watched over and over again for many times. The whole atmosphere was so great. Some side notes on the century eggs and salty eggs. You ate them like the main course, but truly these two are part of ingredients, which make the main course shines. Some dishes to suggest on fully appreciate the deliciousness of these two Chinese iconic ingredients: Century eggs: 擂椒皮蛋茄子 皮蛋瘦肉粥 Salty Duck Eggs: 金沙虾 金沙鸡翅 金沙豆腐 金沙anything
These two ingredients, I definitely don't eat them day to day basis. If a congee has century eggs, I found it it's more favorable. If shrimps are cook with salty eggs' yolk, I would definitely choose that shrimp with salty eggs yolk. They are just super delicious ingredients.

most chinese never eat century egg directly,i like to make some sauce and cutting the egg to 4 pieces then put it into sauce. this is the way i make this sauce: vinegar, green onion, ginger, coriander, suager, sault, chili pepper, sesame oil. try it, i will find century egg is delicious.😋
To all westerners, if you don't want any more food or drinks, don't empty your plate or glass.. when you empty it, it means you wanted more and the host is responsible to keep giving you more of it.
most of the time century egg and salted duck egg are never eaten raw. century egg are cooked eaten porridge or various vegetable. the salted duck egg yolk are usually fried together with shrimps and its very delicious. the alcohol culture is always crazy in china, people drink heavily and its always social events. they also pickled everything, try to find pickled pig trotters if you can. chewing on raw Sichuan peppercorn is almost a prank, your mouth will be numb and tingly for at least a day after eating that raw. overall Chinese countryside are nice, people dont have much but they are happy, they drink because there is almost nothing to do, preserve and eat unusual things to utilize and save anything they have their hands on.

Amazing. Reminds me of my first day in Vietnam. I met some friends after traveling for 21 hours straight. First ever acceptable ad on youtube. Used airolo myself, works great for traveling. He ignored the best part; activate it on departure so you have a working SIM on landing.
There are two kinds of Century Eggs. One is black and the other is yellow. I prefer black ones. In addition, we, at least people in Beijing, eat these eggs with soy sauce and ginger or in the congi with meat.
I hope you read my comment while not sober. You do an amazing job. Going back to your older videos, where there was a bit more of setup involved with doing the slav acting pieces, I love those. You at one time told us that doing those worst hotels/restaurants reviews was quite taxing, and you needed a break in between those series. Opting for a cadence of plain travel videos was such a good ideas. These vids are lit. Thanks man. Hope you do some of the worst/best rated hotel/restaurant again in the future. And maybe some shower scenes. I'm not gay, you are
I'm a Singaporean-Malay and I love century eggs when eaten with Congee and soy sauce 😋. However, if I'm going to eat the egg on its own, it's also gonna be difficult for me to digest it hahaha! And of course the salted duck egg isn't supposed to be eaten on its own as well 🤣! You need to try salted egg yolk potato chips to get the best flavours! Singapore has this popular brand called Irwin's. I'm sure China would have something similar as well.

most chinese never eat century egg directly,i like to make some sauce and cutting the egg to 4 pieces then put it into sauce. this is the way i make this sauce: vinegar, green onion, ginger, coriander, suager, sault, chili pepper, sesame oil. try it, i will find century egg is delicious.😋
Bloggers who can mingle with Chinese, you are the first one I have ever seen in the youtube. The emotional value of the video is high.
Best vlog of the year! Very funny and interesting!
GUYS, this man deserves more viewers and subscribers!!!
As chinese myself, that way of eating century egg is strange. You gotta have vinegar at least.
China looks so fun
来吧!不会后悔的😂
We practice Daoism. Just go with the flow!
To all westerners, if you don't want any more food or drinks, don't empty your plate or glass.. when you empty it, it means you wanted more and the host is responsible to keep giving you more of it.
I was born in Rural China. They have 100 ways to make you drink! Definitely! 😅
most of the time century egg and salted duck egg are never eaten raw. century egg are cooked eaten porridge or various vegetable. the salted duck egg yolk are usually fried together with shrimps and its very delicious.
the alcohol culture is always crazy in china, people drink heavily and its always social events. they also pickled everything, try to find pickled pig trotters if you can.
chewing on raw Sichuan peppercorn is almost a prank, your mouth will be numb and tingly for at least a day after eating that raw.
overall Chinese countryside are nice, people dont have much but they are happy, they drink because there is almost nothing to do, preserve and eat unusual things to utilize and save anything they have their hands on.
I said it once and I'm gonna say it again, Pppeter is the hidden gem of RUclips, I hope he will get a lot more subscribers from now on
Love what you're doing bro❤
Middle aged rural folk are the same everywhere aren't they? All men are brothers.
The last video was a bit too shallow for me, but OH BOY you redeemed yourself with this one. What a **crazy** adventure! Loved it.
I love that you share alcohol from Europe with him!
especially from Slovakia 😅
Best China travel series out there!
I agree..very authentic..him and that crazy mike okay guy..both are nuts😂😂😂
Mike Okay is another one I will recommend. He is even nuts
As someone who’s Chinese but living in Canada, thank you for being so open and respectful with the cultures and the people, looking beyond political stereotypes other youtuber often make fun of. Congrats on 1 million!
Love your videos! They're as entertaining as a TV series! 😍 The best part is, you don't feel bored for a single minute! 👍 Awesome content! Can't wait for your next series! 🙌 I'm always promoting your content! This channel deserves more views and subscribers! At least 20 million! 🇱🇰❤️
Greatly enjoyed the show, it’s nice to see strangers have a good time and share experiences.
Best RUclipsr!! Only the realest experiences 👏
Amazing. Reminds me of my first day in Vietnam. I met some friends after traveling for 21 hours straight. And by the end of the day I was having a techno rave on the sidewalk in the middle of foodstalls, streetdogs and a children’s toy store, smoking a traditional tobacco bong while hammering down shot after shot with locals. I love Asia ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Brazil's countryside deserves to be shared!! I'd be honored to host you!
Every episode of your video is wonderful. As a Chinese, thank you for taking me deeper to understand that there are many different cultures and regions in China. Please continue to do so!!❤❤❤❤
Those salty duck eggs look some different from what we have in Shanghai or the Wu area, which are my favourite for breakfast with rice soup.
Thanks!
Epic! By the way, Chinese people don’t eat century egg without the dipping sauce, usually a mix of vinegar and soy sauce.
There are so many controversies about Chinese videos, and you still update videos about China. Thank you very much! (Love comes from China)
63% alcohol + a duck egg boiled in a 15 years old reused cooking salty water! And you are ready for the day!🤣
First ever acceptable ad on youtube.
I'm not gay, you are
No he ist not.
