    Haha Jenny. You were so sweet when you were on the way to Tim Hortons. “I’m nervous. Will they know it’s my first time?” Definitely no one in Canada thinks Tim Hortons is spectacular - just a convenient spot for cheap snacks and drinks. Most popular things to order are Iced Caps, their chili and their Timbits (the bite sized donuts). We haven’t yet made it to Vancouver but it’s on our list!

    • @JacobandJennyTravel
      @JacobandJennyTravel  2 года назад +2

      Hahaha i felt like such a rookie going in there! Ok ok thats what we thought! It is average but super convenient! We did get an iced cap eventually and it was super good!!! Vancouver is so cool, we would highly recommend it !

  • @noahyvr3739
    @noahyvr3739 Год назад +1

    i know i just commented, but the traditional canadian timmies order is a timmies double-double. next time you're in town go to the till and order a medium double double :) also grab a boston cream donut. in high school our breakfast would be a double double and a cigarette lmao. and if you want a workout do the grouse grind! you're literally climbing a mountain but at the top in the spring/summer you can catch an owl/bear show as a reward for the workout.

    • @JacobandJennyTravel
      @JacobandJennyTravel  Год назад +1

      We got an iced capp after everyone told us we needed to get one at timmies and it was so delicious. We will have to get a double double the next time we are in Canada!! And a donut of course! That sounds amazing!! Thanks for commenting again :)

    Lived in downtown Vancouver in the early 2000s and I don't recall ever seeing a Tim Hortons, that was an Eastern Canada thing back then. Very odd to see so many, our Tim Hortons was Starbucks back then!

    Timmy's is convenient because there's so many of them, plus they're fairly cheap. And they're an iconic Canadian restaurant, largely because of the company's founder, Tim Horton, who was a famous hockey player.

    3:39 - Hey, no way...that Holland America ship, the Zuiderdam, was the very same cruise ship I took from Florida through the Caribbean and Panama Canal back in Feb/Mar 2020 just before Covid really took over North America.
    Either way, welcome to Canada! Tim Horton's is nothing special...but it is a cozy, patriotic hug with decent prices and always dependable...with locations everywhere! (Though they weren't largely in Vancouver more than 20 years ago. At least not like today.)

    Vancouver is the one place where you can get any cuisine with an amazing view to go with it. And whereas pretty much all the Chinese restaurants I've seen in the US have MSG, Vancouver is known for no MSG Chinese food. I get a bad reaction from it, but growing up in Vancouver, that wasn't really a problem. The best Chinese restaurants NEVER use MSG. It would be sacrilegious to them. It's like turning a steak into McDonalds. Tim Hortons is like the Canadian McDonalds. Better quality food because it's Canada, but it's still fast food. Canada doesn't have its own chain restaurants like America does. We only have a few. We're more known for our fresh, organic food and amazing scenery - and healthcare. Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It's expensive to buy in the centre or west end of the city, but you get a lot of perks. Or you can live in the suburbs and be within an hour of the city. If you want great food representing every cuisine in the world, Vancouver is the place to be. Parking is just a pain.

    Most Canadians think Tim Hortons is garbage , they used to be just ok in the past but since Burger king bought them and their cost cutting, they have turned into trashed

      Rofl burger king didn't buy tim hortons. Tim Hortons is owned by Restuarant brands and its the parent company that bought burger king.
      Get your facts right goof.

    Canadians don't go to Tim Hortons because its amazing food/coffee but because it's decent, easy to find an outlet, and inexpensive. It's fast food.

      San Francisco is typically much cooler than Vancouver that time of year. They might not realize this but they would have FROZE there behinds off visiting San Francisco in July! Arizona is far-and-away the hottest summer state in the USA. So...don't be offended.
