I can’t believe we didn’t cross the Daintree and push on to Cape Tribulation. Looks like a good reason to head north again.

I was there when I was 9 years old. My parents took us on a 3 month roadtrip to queensland in 1989. I'm hoping to get back up there. I just did my test run with my camper van. I just got it a few months ago. Not going out during bushfire season this year. I also need to save up for the 200,000 km service for my new van (one reason it was only $7,000).

@@brendanhoffmann8402 That’s exciting to hear your getting closer to setting off! Hope your van remains trusty for many more kms 😄 and that you’re able to visit the Daintree again very soon! A three month road trip as a kid with family sounds like an invaluable memory to have.

I love that part of the world! I haven’t been there for maybe 10 years, but that time I saw a cassowary with a youngster just off the road in the thick bush and mistakingly assumed it was the mother…
And as a former tattooed sailor I love the name of the coffee place! Ok, not formerly tattooed, but they are permanent reminders of a former life several decades ago.
I look forward to your journey south. It sounds like you’ll love Tassie! Shorter distances but plenty in between.

Lucky!! I were unable to spot a cassowary the entire time we were in FNQ. I hope you mean a cassowary with a young cassowary, and not one that was abducting a child ;) Tattooed Sailor was a very cool place... Sounds like you'd fit right in!
I look forward to that in Tassie! I know it's a goldmine of natural beauty and I can't wait.

Did you visit Cape Trib Beach House in Cape Tribulation.
Beautiful restaurant right on the beach.
You do know that Babinda has one of the highest rain falls in Australia.

@@stephenrogers9664 We didn’t eat at the Beach House (have heard great things!) but did spend a couple of meals at the Turtle Rock Cafe 😅 Perhaps next time! That’s makes sense that Babinda would have one of the highest rain falls in Aus as it was flowing so rapidly even at the end of dry season!

Too true!! I bet I'll be wishing the van had an internal shower by then...
