When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Yeah, there will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

Suggestion/Tip for making better and quicker chord changes:
After making a chord shape, hold that chord, and strum that chord at least 20 times, initially with down strums.
After each strum, keep/hold that same chord shape and "Squeeze that Chord"(depress fingers onto the strings) with your finger tips,
then "Release"(let the strings come off the frets but keep your finger tips in place while they rest on the strings):
"Squeeze" "Release", "Squeeze" "Release", "Squeeze" "Release", etc at least 20 times.
Your fingers will learn the "muscle memory" needed to make the shape all at once(not one finger at a time).
Repeat this process until you can pick up your guitar, and instantly place your finger tips on the strings
    with the proper chord shape!
Later after learning all your chords this way, you can use the "Squeeze" as a rhythm dynamic to add punch/pulse/drive/rhythm to your playing!!
Let me know if this helps. Bob

I don't know how much this will mean to you, man. As I am sure you hear this kind of thing all the time; but you just taught me my first song. I have been playing for justshy of a month and a minute ago, I was getting emotional. Playing something that sounds ... like music, just blew me away.
Thank you for the well thought out break down and lesson. Now I can't stop playing the verses.

I know this may sound stupid, but the whole reason I have trouble with playing the guitar is because I don't remember chords well. I always preferred bass or instruments with bows because they only usually play one note at a time. However, I inherited my father's guitar, and I want to learn it in memory of him. Let me just say that this is the most helpful video I've ever come across when it comes to learning a song. You do so well at it that even I, someone who hates using chords, understand it.

    • @danapereira3211

I have the same problem but if you choose easy songs with only 4 or 5 chords per song like all of me and if you practise enough it will work

    • @Sci-Que
      @Sci-Que 6 лет назад +4

Actually you will not have to sharpen your memory if you have music in you. Muscle memory will come in time and the chords will make themselves. Just relax and practice and you will get the chords. Just my opinion.

I am a beginner (about 10 months now, determined not to give up) needing a song to spice things up and motivate me. Great lesson! Other videos seem to rush through "oh you know C G D well you can play these songs"...and they don't give me all the info I need to learn the songs. I want words. I want to see when to play each cord in a simplified version. You inspired me today! Thanks so much.

When I first saw this video I was really overwhelmed with with the walk on sections. They looked pretty complicated and there was no instructions on how to get by them. Then I finished the video and after two more times I was actually playing along without any significant errors. Now I've got a new song under my belt. Thanks for the lesson! Perfect way to spend 13 minutes.

Rob I have to say that you are the absolute best guitar teacher I have had the pleasure of learning from. Quite often so called teachers will tell you to play one thing but play a different version. It is almost like they are showing off. martyzsongs ( Great player shit teacher) is synonymous for this. It makes it impossible to understand how the song is supposed to sound. You on the other hand are very focused, only play what you are teaching, and have a way of progressing through a lesson that is quite frankly perfect. If you don't teach in a classroom setting or one on one. I beg you to please do so you have a gift my friend and I am so thankful to you for taking the time to share it. God Bless you Roband THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey. Thank You. As a beginner this was very helpful in the way you presented it. I slowed the video to get the walkdown and extends. I'll start out on the cords, then double strum, then full strum and the extended stuff. Getting to the point where I understand this, but not yet where the fingers and mind can do it all yet.

Wow, that's the best short tutorial I have seen. I like the way you show the diagram of which chords/notes to pick. Sometimes that can be hard to pick up on. I think you have done a very good job of putting everything together.

I certainly can't speak for all beginners out there, but I find the instructional format used in this video tutorial (with the chords and lyrics shown as you play) to be the most helpful. Its really difficult to hit chords, keep a strumming pattern, AND sing all at the same time - at least for us beginners. I play this video over and over and try to keep time with you. I mess up often, but I just keep going/trying to keep pace with you and have improved tremendously because of it! I say this to say you hit gold with this particular instructional technique, so please keep doing it :)

Also, thank you for taking the time to include an explanation of chord progressions/scales. I started learning by practicing scales..and it was boring and didn't make a lot of sense at the time. Then, in my boredom, I attempted to learn a few songs, but I didn't immediately make the connection with the songs I learned to the scales I had been practicing. You really helped me make that connection, and now I'm actually motivated to keep practicing/learning my scales. You have achieved the impossible lol. Thank you!
