    This stuff is awesome!!! Totally works like it said it does and did a cold pull at the end and it’s clean with no stretching or deformation

    Great video. I just bought the same cleanung filament, because my Creality Ender 3 v2 was under extruding recently. I’ll try the same steps you did. Hopefully it solves that issue because I still have one more I need to print for a client.

      @ThePF1 Yes, I did. I managed to finish the prints in time.

    It looks to like that 2nd glob that "came out" @ 5:12 was from the outside of the nozzle that dripped down to the bottom of it from the heat. I use a small, brass wire brush to clean the crud off the outside of the nozzle when it's hot.

      @@timmturner It looked to me that because the nozzle was dirty inside the extrude bent to the side when coming out and it looked like it came from the outside. Once the dirt was out it then came out straight. I've never seen filament just run down the outside of a nozzle.

    so that´s why I thought that it didn´t work. eSun instructions are terrible, glad you cleared them up. I´ll try again letting the filament bake in the nozzle.

    Thanks for this walk-through, my eSun Cleaning filament came in a clear bag with no details on WTF to do with it (I figured it had to go through the extruder and nozzle, but yeesh). I didn't see any gunk come out, but then again I usually print white, so it may just not have been as noticeable. Here's hoping it fixes the issues with clogs from PETG.

    I keep this stuff on hand because it extrudes at so many different temps it's good if you switch between PETG, PLA, and ABS/ASA a ton. Also I like using this before I'm inserting white filament so that I don't have to purge as much white filament to get it extruding perfectly white. It also lasts a loooooooong time, I'm still not finished with my 100g pack and I bought it in 2019.
    It does kinda work at grabbing whatever gunk is in your nozzle but I think it does a better job at letting you safely swap dissimilar filaments and making sure your color changes go smoothly without wasting too much of the printing filament.

      @ThePF1 i just spooled it onto a empty spool and use it that way
      Doesn't really need to be kept dry or anything

    Relevent video still! I just viewed this to clean out bad Creality white PLA (on sale yeah!) I usually only print with PLA+ Natural.

    Man that bowden tube is way too long.

    • @andrewesquivel
      @andrewesquivel  3 года назад +3

      I purposely made it long so that way it has some relief from the strain of moving back and forth. Having too short of a Bowden tube I have found wears out pneumatic couplers in Bowdon collects prematurely

      @@andrewesquivel My solution would be to print out a stress relief sleeve out of TPU. Will really come in handy when I convert to a flying extruder short bowden tube setup.

    the way he says petg

      It's very common to say pet instead of P-E-T between plastic engineers. I was actually surprised it wasn't as common in the 3d printing hobby community.
