I grew up in Australia and use to go see Tommy and Phil Emmanuel play around the pubs in Sydney, Ive had the opportunity to see him play solo in subsequent years and once invited Tommy to p[lay at the Shanghai Jazz Festival. you are right, what a fantastic human being, a lone guitar player that has touched so many individuals across the world. . Love this video and great idea building Tommy a CBG. Thank you for sharing.
awsome dude ive followed Tommy all my 52 year life you rock mate Foxy from melbourne in aussie land cheers mate making a 3 stringer using your video for inspiration
We have had tickets for about a year and his concert has been rescheduled twice, so now we will see him in January in DesMoines---he truly is an incredible human with a gift.
G'day from Perth - Western Australia - Down Under. I've been playing guitar for years but am new to CBG's and am really enjoying the ride! I picked up a second hand custom made FL3TCH CBG (Ian Fletcher Perth WA-Legend) and am loving the simplicity and enjoying my new hobby. I really liked your Tommy Emanuel story as I do your others - keep up the good posts - Cheers Mitch from WA
Awesome job bro,I saw Tommy in Brisbane Australia about a year ago, you’re right that dude sure can play, that’s a memory you will never forget, peace bro
That blew me away! People say you shouldn't meet your heroes but this is a great testament otherwise. Understandably you were a bit visibility nervous but honestly it adds to the art of the moment ♥
Whoa Del, jamming with Tommy Emmanuel, that is damned impressive, sir! Also, I love that Ruger sticker in your back window there, God Bless America 🇺🇸 Stay safe, brother!
@@PuckettCigarBoxGuitar Love watching your videos. Getting inspired to make one sometime. Was down there in Portland for the Cinco De Mayo celebration and wound up buying an electric ToneStick, which has a diatonic scale. Was wondering where you get your diatonic riffs or tunes from? I'm gonna want to learn a few tunes. I know you have some in your videos. In any event, thanks a bunch for your videos, you are very crafty and musically talented. I'm inspired!
I never saw Tommy perform live, but I sure would love to and to meet & greet him would be a dream come true. I have watched his videos for quite some time. He seems like a very cool guy.
Wow! Great video. Great overview on the construction of the neck and fretting. And capturing the gift ceremony at the concert was excellent, too. I look forward to more like these! :)
Del, so glad you had that experience! I took two friends to see him here in Portland, Maine a few years ago. One of them mentioned it to me again recently. Tommy is definitely one of the best in the world as a musician and an entertainer!
Who's here cuz of Cheech and Chongs "Next Movie"?? You are very generous with your knowledge of cbgs start to finish...Thank You! Killer Riffs as well!
I got a 3 string cigar box guitar for Christmas. I love it! It was made by D.O.D. (I think it stands for Dave of the dead? Or something like that... My uncle knows the guy anyway) These things are awesome and fun to play anyway.
I never got to Jam with him but I did get front row seats once to one of his shows and got my Les Paul signed. CGP! I'm going to try to make a CBG soon, I have all the parts I'm just scared of making the neck. Now that there's a plague and I have more time at home, I think it's time!
Such a cool video! Tommy, imo, is one of the best. He's also an incredibly nice person, who actually talks with his fans and appreciates them. If I ever get a chance, I will definitely go see him! 👍😎🎸🎶
Tommys the Legend and an Aussie aswell, Del your a saint to give tommy a CBG, great testament to you as your craftsmanship is second to none. will you ship to Australia a CBG, Love to have 1..cheers

You really have a cool thing going when Tommy Emanuel has your c-gitty, plays it with you and shows love and respect.
Seen him live a couple of times, probably the most amazing guitar player I've ever seen in my whole life!
I saw Tommy and his late brother Phil play in a pub in the early 1980's. Astounding talents.
WoW, made a memory of a life time. Beautiful brother, and you had your son with you. AWESOME.
I got to meet and play on stage with Tommy many years ago. He's such a lovely guy. Congrats. That was a nice gesture by you.

My favourite guitarist, and my favourite CBG builder together, don't get much better
Massive. The guitar, the m&g with Tommy, the jam. Massive.
