- Junior DH World Champion Jackson Goldstone lights up some private trails hidden in the mountains around Santa Cruz, California. 2022 will be his first year on the SANTA CRUZ Syndicate World Cup DH team but before he gets his head down between the tape it's good to see this most stylish of young men doing some mid-air stretching.
well deserved for Jackson, Syndicate is secure for the future with this lineup.
I liked him on Trek but the Syndicate is the right choice imo. Kid rides so fluidly loose it's incredible, been a pleasure seeing the growth over the years and burning passion Jackson has for the sport.
Same. Seeing him grow over the past few years and how intense his riding is. Santa Cruz made a good choice.

Amazing in so many ways! However, it does get a bit repetitive showing the same thing in 5 different shots.
Agreed. Watching 15 schralp shots in a row sorta takes away from seeing Jackson in motion. We get it, he can kick up some dirt. Please show more of the raw flow this kid is overflowing with! Otherwise, this is fantastic shooting, editing, and of course riding.

I heard Jackson was running Medium what height he is. I think I’m same height as Jackson and he tried Large and he get back to Medium
Hi there ROSE, Jackson started on a medium V10 with Chris King Buzz Works headset (+8mm I believe) but during testing tried out the Large front end with the Buzz Works headset with -8mm. He had some good results but went back to the medium & +8mm at the end of the camp. It's likely he might switch it up depending on the course. We hope that helps.
Isn’t it considered uncool and destructive to skid up the turns with your rear brake like he does in this incredible clip?

I used to be a pro bike skidder too...when I was 10. Then some guy made me fix all the trails I ruined.

Totally get where you're coming from. This trail was built by Jackson and his friends on their own land so I'm sure they went back to make it better for themselves later.

What size bike for a 5’ 6” teen?
Great bike , rides smooth ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I added a bigger spring loaded seat to it . Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing .
Why do people keep saying Syndicate is better for him? Any thing to back that? He looked way better on Trek. Step down imo.

I know he's a DH racer and champion and all that business, but those trails do not warrant a DH bike, and he would have looked even more steezy and dynamic on a shorter travel rig. I just imagine riding Santa Cruz trails on yer trail bike and then seeing someone in full race kit/Redbull helmet on a world cup downhill bike and I know I'd have a little bit of a chuckle.
These aren't your usual SC trails. And those hips deserved a big rig.
Main hip is about 40 feet where Jackson was landing with an 11 foot tall lip 😅
@@derekmccuiston jumps on professional slope style courses are bigger and they ride them on short travel bikes. Sure the trail is gnarly but it doesn't warrant 200mm of travel when you're that skilled of a rider. Just not chunky enough imo!

Even with it being a private trail all that rear brake skidding made me cringe. Habits like that should not be encouraged. Pros need to set a good example.

cool vid but the bike can do so much more, I had 2011 and 2016 v10 did bigger jumps than all those and went quicker - you get on a v10 you become a god, it saves you from death and does a lot of riding for you - you just have to not shit yourself and trust it as it takes you way over the level you used to be at. Cool vid but rider and bike at 50% here, push yourself young man !

We get where your coming from. Usually we wouldn't put out content with gratuitous flicks but this trail was built by Jackson and his buddies in their own backyard. And we're not going to tell anyone how to behave in their own yard.
