    Great review. I think the exterior styling looks good. Would be cool if Ford made a full Escape ST trim with the 2.3 Ecoboost from the Focus RS.

    That looks more luxurious than a base Lincoln. I like it for what it is. It's just crazy it feels like more cars want to be luxury more than just practical regular car. But I do like it.

    Bought a 23 Escape ST Elite AWD with black 19 wheels, vapor blue. Has 2.0 engine. Does not have BO sound, pano roof, or headsup. Total was 40,100. Every option will be 43, but regular Elite can save some. Traded 19 Escape with sport appearance. The 23 has better seats, better ride, better dash ergonomics. However, hood shakes around 70 mph. Websites on that. Still, I am content with it. Much better than the 2019.

    Always enjoy your reviews. Sometimes you get a little mumbley when reading off equipment though. Keep up the good work! Did I hear you say the door was rattly?

    Nice little farewell package. That price point though… just can’t see anyone with that budget picking this.

    I bought an Active AWD at the end of August, and it went into my Ford garage on October 3rd for the engine overheating, or more specifically, overheating at the cylinder head. It’s still in the garage today 6 to 7 weeks later. I found a forum online of other 2023 Escape owners having the exact same issue as I am. I regret buying it as my old 2018 Escape SE 4WD was rock solid. I plan on getting rid of my new one ASAP.
    Also, I have the smaller 8” SYNC4 infotainment. It is a lot slower than SYNC3 was. I’ve even had to do soft resets (aka restart) to it twice in the month I actually was able to drive it before it went back to the Ford garage.

      There is a TSB for the overheating from Ford . It is a programming issue, the engine is not really overheating

    • @FBHSswimmer2006
      @FBHSswimmer2006 5 месяцев назад

      @@RagefaceE-vz7evWhen did the TSB go out? Because I have a copy of the exchange between my garage and a Ford Engineer that said it is a known issue and to replace the cylinder head assembly. This was back in October.
      I had originally thought that the computers were only thinking it was overheating and it really wasn’t based on how the temp gauge shoots all the way up and back to normal in the span of 3 seconds. Not a gradual rise and fall if the coolant was too hot.

      @@FBHSswimmer2006 i might be wrong and not applying to your model as i am reading that you mentioning its a 2023 model? Now the confusing part is that the TSB applies to models BUILT before March 2022 so if you bought the car in 2023 that doesnt mean it wasnt built in 2022 . The tsb was april 2022. When they plug in your car they should be seeing stored in the PCM some error number P2183 . If that is the case then they should apply the fix. Is it a 2.5l PHEV? The first versions of SYNC4 also had issues here is the list with the latest versions I think you can get an update for free anyway www.fordservicecontent.com/ford_content/pdf/tsb/SYNC4LatestLevelSummary.pdf

    Those who buy this car should check whether there is water leakage in the area where the spare tire is located. I noticed that after 30 days in my Ford Escape Phev vehicle that I bought from the dealer, there was a puddle of water and the rear seat bars were rusted. Can anyone write here if they have experienced the same thing?

      I have an Escape Active with that knob. I hate it. Because it doesn’t stop when I put it in Park or Drive. Now the 2020 Fusion I am currently driving since mine is in the shop, it does stop rotating when I hit Park or Drive.

    Struggling to see why you would buy this over a Rav4. My hybrid limited with a panoramic roof was cheaper than this and I get way better gas milage. Just seems like they are still trailing behind Toyota. Heated and cooled seats in the front and rear passenger heated seats.

    • @trenton737
      @trenton737 8 месяцев назад +3

      Escape has a bigger back seat and wider interior. Also drives better (2.0EcoBoost). RAV4 looks awkward from most angles, where the Escape is more restrained.

    • @JIPlatium
      @JIPlatium 8 месяцев назад

      @@trenton737 your comment isn't quite right. The RAV4 has more shoulder room than the Escape. In dimensions, they are pretty close to the same, would be hard to really tell one from the other because the difference is minimal. Even though the RAV4 has more cargo space, again not crazy enough to tell the difference. When it comes to the drive train, Toyota is smooth, whereas the Ford lags and shifting between gears isn't amazing. Where are the cooked seats? Where is the passenger rear heated seats, Toyota has it. As far as looks go, if you go just by popularity and not personal opinion, the Ford gets its butt handed to it. Having driven both, you couldn't get me to own a Ford. Also Toyota has a better safety rating and standards safety amenities. Bye bye Ford or escape from it.

    • @trenton737
      @trenton737 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@JIPlatium Well I'm over 6'2 and my Escape is definitely more spacious than the RAV4. The popularity of Toyota is mainly due to their reputation, not their looks. Everyone knows Ford is generally always safer than Toyota and IIHS tests reflect that.

    • @JIPlatium
      @JIPlatium 8 месяцев назад

      @@trenton737 still pretty bland statement, I'm 6'2 and fit just fine in the Rav with a panoramic roof. Are you sure you looked it up? IIHS is only listing 2023 models and older. From that list, RAV4 spanks your Escape. Sorry wrong again about safety.
