Scorchio.....wow soo hot. Well done for coping with the heat. Great tip to wet down the boat. Lovely to see that like us, the animal welfare always come first. Love Rufus. Such a lovable character. Xx
Top tip: get those gel cooling pads for Ruffus and get a few extra for you both to lay on. (B&M and Home Bargins have them) Also a bowls of ice behind the fans and place them at either end of the boat to help blow the air 🤗🤗
Im Australian and yet I struggle with anything over 30, especially if its humid. It zaps all of my already flagging energy. I have full sympathy for you guys!
Hi Amy on the subject of tea /coffee cups, I have a collection and each morning I choose which one I want that morning, The right one just jumps out to me. My wife thinks I am mad. I was so pleased to hear you say that to Wess, Love the vlogs. Bob
Listen, a mug isn’t an object, it’s a feeling. You never know how you’re going to feel so you never know which mug you’ll need. 😆 I, too, have a mug problem. lol ETA: You can also turn the ones you love but don’t like the feel of into cachepots. 😉
Couldn't help but notice some of your tunnel bits remind me of Doctor Who with the Tardis going through the worm hole. 😊 Anyway, I love you both for always putting a smile on my face, especially on those emotional hard days. Give Ruffus a pet for me. ❤
Always love your Vlogs, we so look forward to them, when we lived in Spain for 20 years one of our dogs was a Husky, she used to lie in the sun until she got so hot, then she would come inside to lie in the shade, that way it cooled her down, if she got hot in the shade then she had no where to cool down, this is how we looked at it, oh and we didn't have aircon neither lol .... hope this helps why Rufus might do the same, hugs to you both from Gary & Keith - NB Nauti Bouys xx😍😍
We bought an Electriq dcff40led fan recently (when they were cheap in winter) if you can find room for one you will fall in love with it! 30 speed settings the lowest 5 being inaudible for sleeping and draws 80 watts on the highest setting, I can run it for hours on a tiny power bank. Our portable air con has been retired and my ADHD sensory issue is I can't stand being too warm. Can't recommend this fan enough it's an 'air distribution' fan so allegedly works slightly differently with more air movement rather than churn. YMMV but couldn't help but recommend it.👍
You know what they say-donkeys go best loaded 😮you have the patience of a saint Wes .l see your point about the noisy neighbours 🙁but you bounced back with your usual exuberance 👍
Hi Amy and Wes. The few days of summer at the end of June were really warm and being on a boat in the sun definitely can’t have been good. The end of last week was similar but it didn’t last long 😁 The annual mug purge has happened. Funny that on the same day Amy was looking at more mugs 😂 Have a great weekend 🥰Take care. Nick
Have been following you for a while now so decided to subscribe. Love all your videos. I totally understand about your feeling the heat. Where I am in Australia (south) 27 is a comfortable temperature with dry heat. I cant stand anything over 30 so I have summer. I have visited the UK several times and yes you do have a humid climate. My last trip it was between 18 - 20 but boy it was quite warm and humid. So 27 would be sweltering. Amy there are only 2 of us in the house and I have at least 30 mugs and the same with glasses. You never know when you'll have a visitor. Could you dip you feet into the canal to cool off?? Happy travels :)
Can't wait for the video when the full cassette falls off the trolley!!! You really need one with bigger wheels, as to water look for "aquarolls" 40 litres make sure its the aquaroll brand way better than others.
Haha! It did actually happen to us a while back at Foxton Locks! Amy lost control of the speed going down the hill 😂 Luckily there were no spillages... 😀 40L sounds great! But it's just storing it when not in use 🤔
We have that kind of heat too... hot & humid like a sauna... the air is thick! If there's no wind and no a/c... it's awful! I could not live without a/c on those days. (South Western Ontario Canada is jokingly considered the banana belt of Canada We are actually more south than Detroit and Kid Rock sings South Detroit... well that's us! lol
Im just the same Amy when it comes to mugs especially if youve bought it on day out or attraction. Its the memory's i guess.. lots of love as always you four xxxxx❤
Hi guys I feel your pain with escaping the heat. I've found keeping wet flannels in baggies in the fridge and tuck in your bra strap under the girls definitely helps. Also around your neck as well. I have also jumped into the shower fully clothed and just had a quick 15 second shower and sat in our caravan on a towel to just get through the worst of the heat if you get desperate
I don't know if it's the same in the UK as America but we often have animal shelters that take in cats, dogs, and other small pets (hamsters, ferrets and RABBITS). Being from south America I understand what you mean by wet heat. I grew up on the rivers. The humidity is INTENSE. When it's 80 or more degrees, it can literally feel wet to the touch outside. It's like active evaporation lmao
these steel sausages get soooo hot and unbearable, your not wrong the heat over here is quite different to other countries, maybe were just to weak 😂feel sorry for all your pets too, safe journeys guys take care ❤
Yup, I agree that humidity is a big factor…in 🇨🇦 we can get into the 30 degrees C along with that ugh humidity but, I don’t live in steel….. I’m sure by the time you show this vlog it is over and it is cooler🎉
I have about 4 mugs in the house but will always go for the same one every time (it's good to have a favourite 😊). Now if there was a boattime mug I could drink out of that would definitely become my favourite 🤔😝. And you can never have too many noodles (I have a dedicated shelf in the cupboard for ramen 🍜).
One good thing, the heat never lasts very long in England. Next week it will be cold and raining again! A question for Amy, how can you be a vegan and not like vegetables?😂 But I am with Amy about mugs, I have so many and have certain ones for different teas and times of the day. Take care you 3. X
Really appreciate your publishing schedule. Never a lack of content for my narrow boat fix. May as well give a couple of Canadian dollars to the cause over on Patreon.
Hi Amy & Wes love your vlogs been watching from the start . Your the first bloggers to touch on repeat prescriptions please tell us how you go about getting these as I'm going cc soon and am on medication and can't find any info on this . Keep up the entertainment thanks
If you are registered on the NHS app, you can go on there and nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescription. We do this, order it a week ahead to the next town we plan to visit. Works fine 90% of the time! Another thing we did that helped, depending on the medication is to ask your doctor for a longer supply per prescription. I just said “i go on boating holidays a few months at a time” rather than telling them we live on it full time, and they seem to understand and be willing to help 😊 hope you can get it sorted! 🤞🏻
Hey guys 👋 I finally watched Narrow Escape..why oh why did they graphically show the cartridge being emptied 🤦🏻♀️ You both do a much better job with your vlogs than the channel 4 programme ❤ The mugs…they are setimental and for different moods 100%, my fiancé made me get rid of some so I picked 6 and he said he couldn’t part with 2 of them 😂. Have a blessed week 🙏❤️
Haha we know! We were just as surprised/horrified 😂😂 Awh thank you so much, that's a massive compliment! Yeah mugs are strangely easy to get attached to 😁 Enjoy your week too! 💕
You got me into using a jiggle pipe, brilliant invention! I keep one for the water and keep it in a bag with nothing else. You do what you want to, as I do!! xx
@@BoatTimeI really want your channel to blow up as you are honestly my favourite youtubers. I don’t really watch tv anymore mainly RUclips and and have quite a variety and large number of channels I watch so don’t say that lightly ❤
If you put a layer of carpet, or such like material over the roof, the water will soak in and cool the steel then the water will gently evaporate from the carpet rather than boiling off the steel. Just as hot here in central France. No canals round here but.
Hi both....why not make rufus a couple of panniers, he could then help out when you have jobs which require transporting goods. I am sure he would enjoy it. Just light goods of course perhaps your noodle haul. Lol.
I have been to West Yorkshire many times. Even the Great Yorkshire show. It was 31 and everyone forgot their sun cream. So many burns. Everyone was like, it is so hot. I am from Southern USA and thought it was nice. Our weather lately has been in the upper 90’s with high humidity making the feel like temp 105. The humidity over there is not even the same as here and it is why it felt so nice. My partner then would come over and thought it was so so hot. Trying to remember his saying for it.
One of the reasons you are my absolute favorite NB vlog is that you show more of NB life - not just the cruising part. On other vlogs when they cruise, stop and the next thing is "Two days later" , then they cruise again I am exasperated. I enjoy seeing you shop, walk, laundry, sitesee, whatever - you are always entertaining. Perhaps you could explain your meals you cook slower though. Some look so good I'd like to try them but not sure how you made them. Keep it up, love your vlogs!
I understand Amy, it’s glasses for me. I collect them from pubs (for a donation to the charity box) and would struggle to part with the majority of them if I’m honest 😂
I agree every state country are different. California where I live 106-117 degrees went to Arizona 120 but dry and the worst. Humidity can ruin your day
Wonder if it would be worth considering pneumatic tyre's for that cassette trolley you use. Those random tow paths must be rugged to haul weights along eh?
We met you at Braunston! We've also recently seen inside out 2. Good choice of film.....but I do think the Americans could do with using a bit more imaginative film titles.... let's face it the brainstorming session on that one can't have been long!😅
On average, how many “hot” days do you have each summer? My husband and I are looking to build a boat and I want air conditioning, at least in the bedroom.
It varies massively in the UK! Sometimes it's a couple of months, last year it was only about a week! 😢 But there are companies that make portable 12V air con units, might be worth looking into!
Girl you are preaching to the choir I live in Florida and I swear the 93 degree heat with the terrible humidity we have it feels like I live in hell most days but I don’t know how yall live without air conditioning because that’s what we survive living in Florida with. Lol!! But I guess before climate change yall probably never needed air conditioning. And with climate change it seems like it’s getting hotter and hotter. I want to move up north so bad and I’m definitely going to but I’ve got several things I’ve got to do before I can sell my house and move but it’s just become unbearable to me I went on vacation up to Wyoming and omg it was so wonderful and so much cooler than here I can’t wait to move up north.😁😁😁😁
Quick question guys, you said about getting a prescription… I need to take loads of meds and was wondering when we move onto our boat and go continuous cruising how easy it would be to get regular prescriptions ?

The humidity plays a large part in dealing with the heat. One can handle easily a temperature of 105F with little to no humidity. In the Far East the summer humidity is unbearable, so at 80F it feels like it's in the 100s.
Just to support your UK heat theory, in real world time as you know last Friday 19th July was the hottest day so far this year down south in Sussex, I played golf with a some 10 others two of which were from Australia and one from Texas, the Ozzys didn’t make 14 holes with one suffering heatstroke 😮, All the overseas lads said 85 here feels like 100 in Australia 😮
I hired a boat once & had to turn the engine on at 10pm, I felt soooo bad! I hadn't cruised for long enough that day & warning alarm started bleeping because the battery was worn down! An error that's stayed with me! I won't do that again! 😞
We live in the Pacific Northwest US and when it gets 80 F here we feel hot and 85 is miserable with air conditioning so 27 C = 80 F can be miserable for you. On the east side of the mountains in Washington state it’s above 105, and in southern states it’s worse. We’re all melting! Add humidity . Good Lord.
You want a couple of air conditioning units onboard and maybe think about stripping the boat back and re insulating the chances are that boat was was built years ago and insulation is gone all fans do is circulate warm air no good on a bat all you need is a few decent solar pannles and batteries and a good generator
We think the insulation is okay, it's just the nature of living in a steel tube 😅 plus the air con units are too big to store year-round when we only really have a few weeks a year of heat 😀
@@BoatTimeair con units ant that big anymore and thinking vs knowing if your insulation is shot to bits has got to be better than mopping the outside of the boat 😂that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in all my years of boating 20yrs
Have as many mugs as you like Amy. I use the same one but have about 15 in total. 🤣 When I’m having meals on the boat as I’m on my own, I tuck an old tea towel in the neck of my top. Good job I do, it’s disgusting as food fails to miss my boobs!! 🤣🤣
Enjoyable watch but Lily says 'Nope!' If my humans leave me at home all day I am going to have my own emotional breakdown and do more than pee on the towpath.
Already commented but haven’t got to the end…if you have a prescription there are some really good online pharmacies that tend to have out of stock stuff and quick delivery. Obviously just do a bit of research and check reviews first.
Exciting…..enjoying the freedom, and time to cool the boat down in the short lived summer 😂
Thanks for another vlog you two are just amazing and so blessed to be with each other and doing what you love to do.
Thank you so much! 🤗

Ooh never thought of that, interesting! 😀
@@BoatTime get one for Rufus & try it out! They're brilliant! x
The humidity plays a large part in dealing with the heat. One can handle easily a temperature of 105F with little to no humidity. In the Far East the summer humidity is unbearable, so at 80F it feels like it's in the 100s.
totally agree! it makes all the difference
Oh wow!! That's reassuring! UK heat is awful! 🥵🥵
You should get a bench and plaque for Doops. ♥Hugs to Rufus......
Yeah that's the plan! We want it to be a nice happy space filled with memories of him. Thank you! 💕
Rufus lost his best friend. He's still going strong. He will outlive us all.😮😢😊
It’s been 42C 108F here in Salt Lake City. 54C 130 in Death Valley. But it’s a dry heat.
Ooof wow that's so hot! I bet even with dry heat that's pretty rough! 🥵
Same here in California. We were hitting those 113° (45°c) temps last week in the central valley. 🥵 We’ve cooled down to 106° today.
I hired a boat once & had to turn the engine on at 10pm, I felt soooo bad! I hadn't cruised for long enough that day & warning alarm started bleeping because the battery was worn down! An error that's stayed with me! I won't do that again! 😞
Ah oh no! That's okay though, it can't be helped sometimes, but as long as you let people know why it's normally fine 😊
@@BoatTime I stood outside just in case anyone asked. It only needed 30mins so it wasn't toooooo bad!
The atiquettes gone now we have found on the canals and rivers .. 😢
Puppy!
27deg Celsius... Brisk
You know potatoes (chips) are a vegetable Amy
We live in the Pacific Northwest US and when it gets 80 F here we feel hot and 85 is miserable with air conditioning so 27 C = 80 F can be miserable for you. On the east side of the mountains in Washington state it’s above 105, and in southern states it’s worse. We’re all melting! Add humidity . Good Lord.
Get rufus a cool mat put it in the fridge
Mtb & trainer! Easy
You need to put a battery power water sprinkler on the roof
How much is your fishing license there
I’m a one mug person. ❤
In way north California, it’s the same; damp heat is miserable
Yeah it’s the worst! You can’t enjoy humid heat 🥵
When I’m having meals on the boat as I’m on my own, I tuck an old tea towel in the neck of my top. Good job I do, it’s disgusting as food fails to miss my boobs!! 🤣🤣
Haha!! You sound very similar to Amy 😂 it's better to play it safe than sorry, especially with nice new tops!
@@BoatTime 🤣🤣
Beans and ketchup? On the same plate? Noooooooo!!!! That should be illegal!
It's a match made in heaven! It enhances the beans! 😂
@@BoatTime Cheryl agrees!!! Massive bone of contention in our house when it's bean time!

Ooo good tip, thank you!! 💕
