:( My name is Dwayne and I am writing from Nova Scotia,Canada. I am a C4 Quadriplegic and have been disabled 31 years. I broke my neck in 1983 (The year Stuart was born) As I watched the 5 part series on Stuart rehabilitation I found myself cheering him on. Life is so cruel and when I saw that he died I was deeply saddened, It was very clear to me that Stuart inspired people despite the struggle. You are now in a better place.

Just got this 5 part series in my recommendation and all I can say to everyone is. Be grateful for each day, where you get to wake up and do the things you want to do with the people you love, seize that day, that damn moment and live it like tomorrow doesn't exist, be spontaneous, be free, get out of your comfort zone because the truth is, life isn't guaranteed for anyone.

Of all the lives that have lived, of those lives yet to live..few are chosen to inspire others. Stuart was one. A quite remarkable, individual.
I suffered 2 severe spinal disc ruptures L4/5 & L5/S1.. I had a spinal fusion, and an artificial disc replacement. I was assaulted when working as a Police Officer.
Stuarts attitude to life, his never give in attitude was humbling for me. My injuries are nothing compared to what happened to him. I have dark days, but Stuart has made them much lighter...
Rest In Peace Stuart, and know that you touched more people than you can ever know.......

So incredibly heart breaking...what a beautiful guy. The part that killed me was when his girl left him. Probably inevitable, but it crushed me. What would be beautiful is once she does find her guy, that they have Stuart's baby and raise it...that would be a tribute to this sweet soul....here's hoping...
To Stuart's Mom, Dad, brothers and friends....you rallied around him like champs and he knew how loved he was and he was trying his best to make you proud....God, bless you all....

Stuart, your legacy is that your story....will inspire people and make everyone appreciate their life more. It has given me a sense of calmness and an appreciation for what I have. Sometimes, I get so caught up in how I don't have the things I wish for....not necessarily for material things, but a quality of life that can be had with a better economic situation. After seeing what someone like Stuart has battled through, it makes me realize that my life is good and precious. I hug my daughter extra hard; I appreciate my wife and all her wonderful attributes; and I am forever thankful for my health, my family, and my friends.

Stuart and his life made me see that we just need to push through. What a kind, thoughtful and sharing man he was. I know you must be very proud. He put up with so much but
Didn’t wish it on anyone else. He had great ideas and used his brain. I wish there was more to see and I’m so sorry there isn’t. We know that now he can walk. What a lovely, beautiful soul.

Stuart was such an inspiration. Thank you to his family, friends, and video makers for sharing his story. My deep condolences for his loss.
I had been feeling down, but this video makes me realize I need to snap out of that.
Due to a couple of accidents when young and severe degenerative disc disease (DDD), I too had a C4 spinal cord injury that may have actually looked worse than Stuart's injury, on my MRI. But my problem had developed gradually, not suddenly like Stuart's, and I guess that's why I retained the ability to walk.
However, my hands and arms barely worked, and moving my legs had become a real effort. I had numerous other symptoms, as well, including difficulties swallowing and breathing, at times. Pain kept me bedridden 3 or 4 days per week. Some symptoms were so bizarre and scary that I kept them secret from my doctors, thinking they must be my imagination. I don't want to describe those symptoms, but they now make me think my spinal cord injury was possibly severe enough to be life threatening. I wish doctors would study me to figure out why I could still walk despite a problem that would already have paralyzed most people.
My problem had needed surgical intervention for years but that was prevented due to lack of insurance (I'm in the U.S.). I was on the verge of tetraplegia, according to my neurosurgeon, when in December, 2006, emergency neck surgery saved me from permanent, full body paralysis.
It's now been years since my neck surgery and, though I have a lot of pain due to continued spine problems, I can still walk. I thank God for every step I take because for me, every step is a true miracle. I can also use my hands much better, though they're not perfect. I have other symptoms, too, but I won't bother to list them.
Due to progression of DDD, I know that at any point I could suddenly need a wheelchair. If and when that happens, I can only hope to feel as positive about it as Stuart did.

I have secondary progressive multiple sclerosis and am well aware of the, "here one minute, gone the next" episodes. Stuart, you are a beacon of light, guiding those lost in the "disability" wilderness of "no hope" back home" to the land of "make-believe and "endless possibilities". How special and amazing man. He gave so much to those 15 people who benefited at the end. But in life he was an inspiration to so many. What a special kind and loving man with a beautiful family. I felt so sad that he died as he seemed to be turning his life around. At least he never gave up whilst he suffered such a horrendous injury. R.I.P. xxxx

Stuart lives on in the people he saved with his generosity in donating his organs. I hope that this is a great comfort to his family and friends.

I fell in love with Stuart via this 5 part mini program. His determination and will and above his acceptance of what was dealt him, i was truly saddened and brought to tears when he passed - so upsetting for his family. His courage lives on i am sure. His life was too short.

OMG! I was NOT expecting that outcome at all...... As a nurse I have become a big believer in the human spirit "knowing" their days on earth are coming to an end even though the patient does not. More often than not, patients will decide to contact loved ones that they've not talked to in a while, or make trips home, and sometimes say things regarding the "afterlife" ect.... At the time it doesn't feel remarkable, but after death you quite often connect the dots.....
I am positive that Stuart had an unconscious need to say his goodbyes to his loved ones, and that is what made that trip home so special...
To Stuart's family, and friends, please know that Stuart will always be right beside you cheering you on, or holding you up in whatever life sends your way......
To Stuart, I shed quite a few tears for you during this short film, and my wish for you is to rest in peace, and please take comfort knowing the countless lives you have positively affected before your departure, and those to come in the future.
xx from New Brunswick, Canada (across the pond). ;)

    Great doc. RIP Stuart.
What a lovely family & such a big loss. My brother was killed in a work accident young, the thing I kept thinking was he at such a young age had reached every goal he had made for himself & so much more. He lived a very full & exciting life like young Stuart here ,only compressed into a short amount of years.

Very sad story.... spinal cord injuries are especially devastating. The hangman’s fx at C4 which Christofer Reeves suffered from resulted in the same fate, except he passed from sepsis. God bless this incredible young mans inspirational story and may he serve as a legacy for others.....DON’T TAKE YOUR LIFE FOR GRANTED!
    God bless
