  • This is our very first fill up after riding the scooter. We got an estimated 100 mpg and the scooter isn’t even broken in yet, mpg will probably get better as the engine breaks in. There was still about a gallon of fuel left so it’s possible to get 300 miles to a tank of gas. Incredible!!

    That thing is gorgeous, this and the RPS ADV, both are excellent clones of the Honda ADV, thanks for sharing, making me want one now

      @@DeucesWildRC This scooter made me like scooters, I’ve never been a fan until I rode this KPV. This thing is amazing, I think for the money and the fact that it’s Lifan quality makes all the sense to me. My wife better share or you might see two in my garage 😂

    That's really quite expected, at least by me. Lifan is not a dirt floor factory and has made good products for years. The KPV 150 engine is the next generation of engines in that size to come out of China. Water cooled, fuel injected and four valves per cylinder will be the new norm.

      @@RZ-eu2rl The price is more like $2899 but I find that to be a bargain. The Honda adv150 msrp is about $4299 and with the Lifan build quality it’s hard not to go for the Lifan. I understand about not having dealer support to repair or do maintenance on, that’s a valid point. But like myself there are lots of people that prefer to work on their own machine. You hear stories of people all the time about being unhappy with the dealership and the repairs they receive. Not all dealers are lacking on good mechanics but in today’s market that’s a reality. And have you ever had a Japanese bike 10 years old and take it to a dealer? They won’t work on them anymore so your left to find an independent shop or fix it yourself anyway. Truth is, nobody cares more about your bike than yourself and working on your Lifan or your 10 year old Japanese bike, it is just something you have to know going in that will have to be done. Thanks for the comment and bringing that point up

      @herbiesgarage681 The price is in line with what it has. An advanced engine and refinements plus a well built body. A Liberty 150 still has air cooling at that price. A Kymco Like 150 has a GY6 with four valves. An SYM Fiddle 4 still has two valves and a GY6 for more money. It would be nice to have dealer backing but that may come. Lifan is a big company.

      @@kz1000st1 you seem to know more about than I do, this is our first scooter. I’ve had 3 other Lifan bikes though. Kpm, KPR, KP mini. Lifan is a big company like you say and it’s entirely possible that dealers could pop up around the country. I wouldn’t mind trying my hand at selling Lifan bikes myself. Who knows what the future brings 😁

      @@RZ-eu2rl Point taken, I sold my Lifan KPR and my Lifan KP mini to the first person to look at it on both bikes and sold them pretty quickly and for a decent amount of money. I personally think that the Lifan brand is making into the masses more and more. Parts are fairly easy to get, make take some time on harder to find parts but Venom motorsports assured me that they can get parts as needed, they do sell Lifan products so it’s probably easier for them to get. But even so AliExpress, engtb.com, superbuy.com and other places make it pretty easy to get parts. Heck Amazon even sells some random stuff. But believe me I do understand but I’ve owned 7 or8 Chinese bikes and never had an issue with parts or breaking down for that matter. Thanks for the comment, it’s good to discuss this stuff I think

    its pretty well known lifan's speedometer is not accurate, so its reasonable to assume the odometer is not accurate either.
    its almost certainly not 100mpg

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  Месяц назад +1

      I haven't checked the accuracy of the speedometer on the KPV yet, but I know as in the case with almost every bike I have owned including Japanese bikes, the speedometer is off anywhere from 2-10 mph on every bike I have owned. My Suzuki Vstrom 650 was off 7mph at highway speed, my Honda Goldwing was off by 5mph. The Lifan KPR and KPM are only off 3-4 mph which is pretty normal. My KP mini I had was off as much as 9mph. But it's not just a Lifan bike being off, it is pretty standard depending on what bike you get. One thing I can tell you is I didn't think it was ever going to run out of gas, mpg on this scooter is incredible.

      @@herbiesgarage681 yes, it's quite common for motorcycle speedometers to be off by a small amount, and this is indeed normal across most brands. this is often by design

      @@antd2733 I think my KPR got slightly better mpg, the Kpm is really close though. Both of those bikes gets into the 80’s mpg. I only filled up twice with the KPX and I got 64 mpg approximately. But the KPX isn’t broken in yet and I’ve been varying the throttle a lot which is bad on mpg. I’ll be able to tell better after the break in period.
