Do you think the thunder is. Good started bike for someone that is 5’2
@@Monomoybikes1335 Hello, it would be a good starter bike but it is kind of tall and at 5’2” you would probably be on your tip toes or balls of your feet. It is smaller than a Japanese 125cc bike and probably easier to ride because it only has 8.5 hp and is pretty forgiving. I think if you’re comfortable on the balls of your feet then it would make a good starter bike. I did lower mine for my grandson to ride simply by lower the front forks in the triple tree clamps and buying a shorter rear shock.
@ ok thank you
@@Monomoybikes1335 you’re welcome
I’d check to see if my older brother put sugar or flour in the tank or bb’s into the carburetor. Next I’d check to see if my older brother cut the fuel line. Then I’d check to see if my older brother drained the oil out of the crank case and threw away the oil drain plug. Then I’d check to see if my older brother slashed the tires or cut the brake cables. Can’t be too paranoid with an older brother like mine.

It's been a year since this KPR doesn't show up, what happened?
I sold it and moved to a different bike but the same engine, the KPM 200. I usually only keep a bike for a year or two then I sell it and buy something else. Thanks for the question, I hope you stick around though especially since the KPM content has a lot of similarities especially with the engine.
@herbiesgarage681 I bought KPR after seeing couple of your videos and it's really a good bike in budget, thanks a lot. And yes I've seen KPM videos too, with KPR dashboard and a bag on it... 😅

Looks good man it’s a shame that the kl version is rare I can’t find the service manual for it anywhere. I’ve watched all these videos because I picked up just the engine from my neighbors backyard, so I’m starting a go cart project with it since there is no frame. I have a few questions and maybe you have answers. Do I need the sprocket and magneto covers to get the engine running, it would help if you made a video about the clutch cable system and just a video looking closely at all the small holes or parts because I think I’m missing some parts
@@zekethegeke5317 Hello and thank you, no you don’t need the covers for it to run although I wouldn’t ride without them especially the magneto cover. I appreciate this comparison as I’ve looked at getting one of these. Is one better as far as being pushed around at high speeds or by wind?
I would say no, they are very comparable as far as being pushed around by the wind at speed. I haven’t really noticed a big issue with that with either bike but there’s of course some because of the size and weight of the bike

Hi sir and thanks for the videos one question, my handle bar on my KPV is not aligned properly it's titled like 5 degree towards left so when I'm going straight my handle bar is not straight. is this an easy fix? cuz i think i have to take apart whole front.
Hello, you’re welcome! Yes it should be an easy fix. A couple of questions, did you happen to hit anything or drop the bike? Are you sure the handlebars are straight? If everything is good but your off on your alignment, then you can support the front end so it doesn’t drop then loosen your fork clamps on your triple tree then turn your handlebars while holding the front wheel steady until they align then retighten the clamps on the fork tubes. Just make sure that you support the front end when you make the adjustment because it will drop if you don’t.
@@herbiesgarage681 Thanks for the reply, no I remember it was always like that so nothing to do with hitting something or dropping the bike, I think just badly assembled. I can still ride the bike with no problem... well maybe it feels little unbalanced. anyway I'm gonna try what you said.
@ sometimes you can just have someone hold the front wheel and straighten the handlebars without loosening anything, that’s the way we used to do dirt bikes when the bars would get off. But the first method would be better in my opinion
What’s the replacement carb for these bikes ?
@@ELMOREMATTHEW15 I really like the stock carb on the Ghost but if you wanted to change it then I wouldn’t go any bigger than a 28mm Nibbi carburetor.
Wow, thanks for the tip on the type of oil for wet clutch application and why zinc is important - you are a wealth of knowledge my friend. What is the manufacturer recommended oil change interval? Thanks
@@whitebeardadventures5589 you’re welcome, the maintenance schedule is first oil change about 600 miles then about every 3000 miles thereafter. My personal opinion is that I would do my first oil change at 100 miles then again at 500 miles then every 1000 miles thereafter. The main reason is that the ghost is air cooled and the oil will break down faster with the heat. But that will be up to you. Take care my friend
@@herbiesgarage681 Thank you Herbie, your thinking about oil breaking down faster due to air cooling makes a lot of sense.

When I lived in South Korea back in 2005-2006 Lifan was a popular brand there. Always wanted to try one so imagine how excited I was when I saw this bike pop up on my radar in Canada no less. I see several similarities to the Kawasaki KLX 300. That being said, none of those bikes are worth the $9500 OTD I have been quoted imho. Thus, I’ll definitely be picking one of these up this summer. Great value for money and it just goes to show you that we are paying for the name on the tank more so than the bike itself. Happy Trails! 😊

@@chrishall8203 Thank you Chris, I hope you’re enjoying your new bike! The analyzer has both in car and out of car features. I’m not sure if it has that for motorcycles or not but honestly I don’t think it’s going to make that much difference either way. The KPX doesn’t have anti theft or other parasitic draws while at rest, modern cars and trucks have more parasitic draws at rest especially soon after shutting off the vehicle that’s why they give you the option of testing in or out on cars. On the KPX it shouldn’t matter either way.

Are all carburator jets the same or there is a specific one for the carb on the ghost? Thank you and blessings.
@@albertollorca5249 Thank you! The main jet would range from a 105-115 for a stock Ghost. I would estimate a 105 or 110 would be good. I put the link in the description for the main jet that I used. You’re welcome and God bless
@herbiesgarage681 thank you!
@@albertollorca5249 you’re welcome
That's going above and beyond the call to make this video on a bike that wasn't broken and working in an icy cold garage. Props for your dedication Jerry. I was just looking at the M-12 extended ratchet the other day and when I saw the price for just the bare tool I decided maybe I didn't need it all that bad. 😁 Take care and stay warm.
@@rickrogers2649 Thank you, yes that was my thought on the m12 extended ratchet as well. There’s a 6” extended head bare tool on Amazon that takes Dewalt 20v batteries for $57, I’m thinking about getting that one since I’ve got lots of Dewalt batteries. Take care
8:20. My stopwatch said 16.81 seconds.
Pretty good I think
@herbiesgarage681 oh jeez! I didn't even realize you're the same guy I was talking to before about mounting and dismounting lol, yeah a guy I work with just bought one of those that's why I've been checking these videos out.
@ That’s funny 😂 yeah it’s a really good scooter. I’m not a big scooter guy but I like this one
@@herbiesgarage681 scoots look fun, but I ride a 2009 Suzuki M50... He wants to ride together next summer. I wanted to see what to expect given the difference between the two bikes.
@ oh wow, that’s a huge difference 😁 Your m50 with 800cc approximately is definitely a powerhouse compared to the scooter but you would probably like the smooth ride of the scooter
Hello Herbie, not sure if I missed it in the video, but we're you comparing the Skygo with the Lifan? I see both names in the title. Everything I read says the lifan is better and a little cheaper than the Skygo.
@@BreakingFreeRV Hello, I wasn’t comparing the 2 brands although I’d like to do that. I had a subscriber tell me that when I post a video on the KPV to include the Skygo adv 150 because they were so similar and my videos help them out too, so that’s why I do that. Sorry for the confusion. I truly believe this Lifan KPV is a great quality scooter, I’m not sure if it’s better than the Skygo but it’s definitely a good deal for the money
It's the same KPV. It was rebranded to skygo for Philippine market only.
@ Thank you, that’s good information! 👍🏻
Good video except for one thing, always Mount and dismount a motorcycle from the right hand side. Getting on and off from the left side can be potentially life-threatening.
@@olheghtt I’m not sure where you heard that from but when the bike is leaning on the left side kickstand it makes it much more difficult to mount on the right side especially if you have a tall bike
@herbiesgarage681 it's actually common knowledge, there's a couple of reasons why you mount from the right hand side. Number one if you lose balance and fall into the bike, the side stand supports the bike and you from falling over. Number two, if you lose your balance and fall getting on or getting off from the left side you run the risk of falling out into traffic. That's why all police departments train motor officers to mount and dismount from the right hand side. It's for safety, and it's mandatory. If you have a hard time clearing your leg over a tall bike, you can step up onto the side peg and swing your leg over.
@ I appreciate your insight, I guess I’m old school. 😊
@@herbiesgarage681 vids about mounting and dismounting are common on RUclips. I just pulled this one up randomly. I didn't watch it but I really don't need to. I know what it is going to cover ruclips.net/video/gw3wshcxS9Y/видео.htmlsi=-T15JVNK-6YVTAvf
@ I’m sorry but that’s not for me. I mount my bikes on the left side and have never had a problem. I do foresee several problems with mounting on the right side. I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this one.
Wow! That looks like fun. Good job 👍
@@JerryHawk250 Thanks Jerry, yeah it’s definitely not an ideal situation. Very limited access on either side but now I have a much easier access and can adjust my headlight in 5 minutes or less.
