Use ice cold alcohol and ice cold permanganate solution and it will turn the alcohols into their corresponding carboxyl acids. ❤

Add stones to a screw top bottle so that it will sink in water, add potassium permanganate and few drops of glycerine and quickly screw on the lid, throw into river and collect the fish shortly after as they float to the surface stunned.

KMnO4 is such a good oxidizer. Can we accelerate this reaction by adding potassium nitrate along with glycerin and KMnO4?
I want to see tested by you. Cuz I don't have chemicals 😁

It will, but a bit of a mineral acid speeds it up. Also both need to be chilled to avoid overdoing it.

If you want a reaction with methanol and kmno4, add an acid, sulfuric even nitric will work. Sulfuric is a dangerous addition though, so a drop I'm the alcohol stirred then dropped
