Knuckles in Sonic 1 was the biggest breakthrough in Sonic ROM hacking, hands down; and also, adding a 7th special stage and a cyan-colored Chaos Emerald was also achieved
I love the random long haired old hippie dude lol. Time really is catching up, he was probably 25 or something when Sonic came out. Anyway, surprised the first spindash hack for Sonic 1 wasn't mentioned; it was huge when it came out in 2004. No animation but it worked and made the game a bit more fun and playable. Not that fond of 1 to begin with though. Neat stuff though
@@IkinBBfromAnthologyOfTheKiller I would start with Saxman's panel where he dives into Sonic Spinball for the first time. Link is in video description next to "Hacking Sonic Spinball for the first time".
No, sorry! These were made special for the expo. There are only two in existence. If you reach out to me on X, I'd be happy to share the image with you, though.
I was literally just researching on sonic ROM hacking and I find this.

Same here. Funny how the algorithm works sometimes

I find old fan games and hacks really interesting so I'm 100% gonna watch this later.
When done viewing this video, be sure to check the video description for links to the other 2 panels we held at that expo.
I not only find that intresting, but also studying somewhat niche communities and their history. So this is pretty cool.
