No way I am actually in the queue on this vid...ha ha a bit younger and fresh faced than I am now. From what I remember (which is very little nowadays) it was a top night as always :o)
I was nearly always at the front of the queue for the Drome. DJ DG MC JC. You know what I mean :) Best nights out ever. Until Quadrant Park closed and all the beer 'eds came over and made the place shit. Still for a short while there was no where else like it in the country. Fucking Legendary.
first rave i ever went to,even the queue was full of shadeys.Once you got in though and you hadnt been jarged the place went off.we used to get as close to the middle as we could, cause the edges were tax heaven.
I think the best days was when Dave Graham was blasting out the piano tunes and John Cotton was MCing. It did go down hill towards the end, but hey so did the rest of the country with the shit music that progressed afterwards 91 - 92 was the best era for me.
Where can I get this video from? I've got New Years Eve 92-93 and June 93 but not this one. The drome was the best proper rave club on Merseyside from 92-95 in my opinion and was worth the hike over the water.
Hi All, I am researching for a series of documentaries being made for Channel 4. The series is based on fashion styles surrounding music in the 90s. We are really interested in this scene and this video says it all! Does anyone who was there have any memorabilia or is up for talking to us about it?
I used to love the drome after the State had lost it's license The state was never the same after when it re-opened, full of little knobs trying to act hard, it came so it wasn't worth going there. The thing with the drome it was more techo so the birds didn't like it so much. After 92-93 everyone started to smarten up, like not wearing trainies and trackies, and the 051 opened up, and Cream which was alright, if you didn't mind a load of students, from surrey, to be fair they were mainly cool.
yeah no cream talk here please, just to clarify for the youngers this was Birkenhead NOT Liverpool. Also, the Ritzy in Bromborough haha... we were good at it over this side too you know!
@@liamandrews4721 there were lads from Liverpool there it was a top night back in them days, still a birkenhead club and majority were birkenheaders, fact
I don't remember that many fanny heads. My brains fucking addled. I used to get me arse down the front left at the start of the night but then end up jibbing me mates as I went of on one, an veer off to the right hand side of the stage as you look at it and get of towards the back where it was dark with all the loons. Proper club with it's own atmosphere. fucking electric. Some mad kick offs as the years went by though. "security to the dancefloor" off that MC Cyanide balloon.
I had me Tartan Naff Naff coat only one Ged Loved the Drome still with the girl I met in the Drome queue ended up marrying her. As the song went The best as of our lives Before I go remember this Lockout Lockout make some noise for the crowd outside you've had your E........
is that the real @whats cooking LB, I filmed it ( & P.C's vid for for Sue)might have the full thing, maybe one day i'll find it, but good old tabe players hard to find a good working player.

I challenge you to find any one walking around liverpool city centre in a something like that, style is everywhere. I'm not tryin to tell you i look like i'm straight off the catwalk myself, i've got better things to spend my money on than my clothes. The only people wearing anything resembling anything from that queue are on heroin, and they're the few that probably took that up in 1992 and on still clinging on to life.
