    great commentary. i'm cycling alot, but sometimes still struggeling with "going through everything" on a long(er) ride, like everything up to 2hrs. It needs a certain focus on process and the endgoal. keep spinning, keep on it. u deliver this very well - motivating and inspiring, also for longtime, amateur riders:) since i tend to talk and think to fast, i'll just try to stick to one sentence of yours: "don't get carried away". Really good video!

    • @vilecorpses88

      @@claudeschweizer3932 hey Claude! Thank you!! Do you mean cycling alone for 2 hours? At the start I used to feel it was hard to sit through 2 hours. Then I started listening to podcasts and music (which really helps) the other thing is the feeling you get when a 2 hour ride starts to feel like a normal ride! And when you feel stronger it just keeps hitting you, making you want to go longer! So keep at it! Timing doesn’t matter actually as long as every ride is fun 😁

    • @claudeschweizer3932
      @claudeschweizer3932 3 месяца назад

      @@vilecorpses88 very valid point with the 2hrs starting to feel like a normal ride. that comes after like an hr (for me) and in the end (longest after like 3hrs constant, lil stops included) i feel like i could go on forever, and when i come home, i see my body in the mirror, all muscels tense and in action. Love that feel. It‘s kinda the discipline to get through the first hour. Also i don‘t like too heavy sunshine for my bikerides, so i‘m a bit picky :) love autumn for riding. Equip and so on make a big difference aswell. I know that, since i can compare my old bike (lightweight bmx, which broke) to my actual one. It‘s way more motivating and rewarding with a goodquality roadbike and the right equipment.
      Podcast i use for everything else, but i always lose controll over my breathing with pods in my ears :) weird feeling i dont like.

      @@vilecorpses88 Thanks. I have tried Garmin Virb already, didn’t work. I am giving the trail version of Telemetry Overlay a go, see if it would work with my Insta360 go 3.
      Insta has its own facility, but I would need to import the ride into Garmin Connect first. There are also a few other drawbacks, like only work with the mobile app (slow WiFi download from camera) and not dealing with pauses very well. As such, I’d like to find a more reliable alternative method.
      Fingers crossed for the telemetry overlay. It is the same software SAFA is using right?

      @@vilecorpses88 playing around with it at the moment. Have to say, the way they bunch different gauges in different categories doesn’t make a lot of sense. Though if you have any rudimentary design education, the only one you would use are the text only ones.
      They do provide an excellent syncing assistance preset. I accidentally stopped to chat with a friend before a big climb and that allows me to sync.
      Currently investigating whether I need to buy the insta360 gps remote. That would infuse the mp4 with gps data. It could also wake up a shut down camera. Though the thing is huge and ugly. Apparently I could achieve the same via the Apple Watch app ⌚️as well. Just need to see if the watch app can also wake up the camera reliable and whether having the watch app open would decimate the battery 🪫.

Need to ballance my love for city-cycling with some of these rather focused, calm rides, self-centered. One for adrenaline and bike-handling skills, the other for staying calm, exercise and getting to know ur body and bike. did a lot of delivery, like 12years, just loved it and still do. But i'm always trying to get into exercise rides or tours, for years already - but progressing slowly there ;D i guess a bit more money for another more lightweight, modern roadbike would probably change alot allready.
