They definitely purposely wrote Emily to be more unlikable in season 5. Therefore, making it more difficult for the audience to sympathize with her and also to make Ross not come off like a bad guy. But honestly, it’s still Ross’ fault. Instead of letting Emily go after he embarrassed her to such an extreme degree he went out of his way to win her back. While he also agreed to her demands. And really, not wanting your husband to be around his ex, an ex he just accidentally said the name of during your nuptials, isn’t an absurd request. Emily may not be likable, but Ross is the one who kept doing dumb sh*t.
@@ntiadicteddefinitely nothing simple about being at the altar getting married and having somebody say the name of their ex and having to make a split-second decision right then and there.

@@liteflightify Emily has a mind of her own. She could have said no already back when he proposed. It's not like Ross manipulated her. Yes, Ross messed up big time, but Emily still decided to marry him and then ghosted him. She is responsible too.
I think something that people forget is that Emily was dating someone else (“Colin”) when she first met and began her relationship with Ross. The second episode is so great because they spend so much time trying to find a selfless good deed, and it ends with Rachel telling Ross to do whatever it takes to make things work with Emily, which is the ultimate selfless good deed…especially with their history and deep love for each other. And when Rachel learns that Ross agreed to not see her, Jennifer Aniston plays it so well, because I can feel her pain in that moment. David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston are just so good!
The writing for episode 5 is actually really good, good development on Chandler and Monica relationship, does a good job showing how difficult that ultimatum Emily gave Ross would be on not only him but the group and the back end of the episode from when Rachael finds out is hilarious that exchange between Rachael and Phoebe is one of their best of the entire show made even better by Joey turning up after a serious moment with Ross and Rachael to say Phoebe said something about a trip😂and the way they have Joey find out really speaks to the best assets Matt LeBlanc brings to the Joey character his facial expressions and dramatic line delivery it really brings you into the moment😂
isn’t it kinda weird that he debated what to do about Rachel for so long but he was immediately gonna go to London where he wouldn’t have seen Rachel anyway?? lol
Exactly! He was okay with moving to London as long as he cld get carol, Suzan, and Ben 2 move there too. He wouldn’t see Rachel that way either. So don’t understand why he’s debating what to do
So Love the baby delivery episode(episode 200) reminds me of when my wife was goin into labor. And I like to remember the funny parts. So on a funny/not so funny time... my wife was getting the epidural and the doc said its kinda big and may hurt a little. I blurted out "That's what She said!". The doc started to giggle and asked me not to talk . oh labor memories. and to the best s#x is cos Chandler shared a wall with Joey and learned the tips... Winkwink.
Sorry, I'm going to have to disagree he invited her, and he literally made it a thing still before his flight by asking her to come and saying he can't believe she isn't going to be there. I think just seeing her last before the wedding it was a subconscious slip up but that wasn't Rachel's fault tbf she got there and respected his relationship atp and didn't say anything he didn't know anything his slip up was his own doing
@JaxandNina oh yea def I wasn't expecting you to agree lol I just wanted to add my opinion on the topic. Sometimes we agree, and sometimes we disagree thats life lol i know some of you reactors get roughed up by ppl for having a difference in opinion lol but I enjoy hearing your thoughts on things lol
the motive of the deed makes the difference in my opinion, you can do something really nice for someone but if you’re only thinking about what you can get out of it then it becomes selfish, but if you do it just to be nice then its selfless l, you feeling good about it is just an added perk
Fifth episode should have been called One with the Missing Eyelash Curler. Only reason Joey was the first to figure out Mondler was because he was privy to that clue.
Emily is reasonable. Ross is a dumbshit, totally his fault. Rachel may did many wrong things (before and after this wedding) but this ain’t one of them. She did nothing.
Anyone would do that...... If Rachel and Ross were only friends, I would say Emily was being selfish. But Rachel clearly wanted Ross and you wouldn't want someone like that near your spouse. Plus after wedding, Rachel wanted to go to honeymoon with Ross. No one with right intention would do that
So if the person you were marrying said the name of his ex that he saw every single day, you would just be copacetic with that and not have a single problem with them hanging out every day? I doubt that
I married him. If you don't trust him in all circumstances then marriage was a bad idea. There is always a past and future in life. You marry the past, present and future. It's that simple.
@@that.ll_do_pig That's why she was a fool for going through with the wedding. Her thinking she could block Rachel out of his life when their friend group is so tightly intertwined was another foolish thought on her end. And that's because she really didn't know Ross. They rushed into their marriage. Had she known Ross , his history with Rachel and the way their friend grouped worked. She would have known the moment he said her name...not to say I do because it was never going to work.
22:15 Fun fact: that scene of Ross handing Chandler the lamp was improvised by David(Ross), u can see how Matthew Perry looks hella confused lol

He said, "I can't move to London without Ben." She said, "I know that would be difficult." DIFFICULT is how she phrase him abandoning his child.
Right!
Watching this ep at least 8 times . I just got the condoms joke lol 😂 im as slow as Joey I see.
Ross was wrong to say the wrong name BUT NOBODY forced Emily to go through with the wedding after he did that.
Totally agree with you

Yup. Most of us feel the same way about Emily. She’s just not good.
