How to check radiator valve size

If you think you could simply go to a shop and pick any radiator valve and it'll fit, you are wrong! But don't worry, I've found way that you use to check your valve size without opening the valve. Watch this 2 minutes video to learn how.
Your radiator valve could've any of the below connection combinations
8 mm (5/16 inch)
10 mm (3/8 inch)
15 mm (1/2 inch)
22 mm (3/4 inch)
That means the valve's connection to the radiator could be 22 mm and the valve's connection to the pipe be 15 mm.
Most new pipes are 15 mm (1/2 inch).
The inch and mm are not the exact conversions because inches are specified in an easy fraction form.
Determining the valve connection size based on the Wrench size.
Wrench size is same as the Width across flats of nut (S)
Example 1, 30 mm (1 3/16 inch) Wrench
= M20 nut = Outside diameter of Pipe approx. = 26.67 mm = DN 20 = 20 or 3/4
Therefore, 30 mm Wrench = 3/4" (22 mm) valve connection
So, if you'd use a 30 mm spanner, that means that connection is 22 mm.
Example 2, 24 mm (15/16 inch) Wrench
= M16 nut = Outside diameter of Pipe approx. = 21.34 mm = DN 15 = 15 mm or 1/2 inch
Therefore, 24 mm Wrench = 1/2" (15 mm) valve connection
If you use a spanner of 24 mm (15/16 inch) for both the nuts, then the valve has both the connection to 15 mm (1/2 inch). 15 mm valves are the most common ones especially if your house is fairly new.
Summary
24 mm (15/16 inch) spanner = 15 mm (1/2 inch) connection
30 mm (1 3/16 inch) spanner = 22 mm (3/4 inch) connection
Important - A valve could have 2 different connections sizes!
