Hello Paul.... Actually, I'm not surprised that the external speaker in your case sounds better than the internal one of the ICOM 7610. The transceiver is built into the shelf and the internal device speaker has no chance to radiate properly. So the external loudspeaker must always sound better.....because it also radiates directly to the front... I have here some transceivers......and must say that the only one that does not need an external speaker is the IC 7610. The internal device speaker is actually so good that it does not need an external speaker. I have tried a center speaker from a good Dolby surround set which improves the playback on all other radios - on the 7610 it really didn't do anything because the internal speaker is perfect. 73 and thanks for the video......Thumbs up is guaranteed.
Most all external speakers that are produced for ICOM, Kenwood,Yaesu and other manufacturers are all severely overpriced and overrated. You are much better off with a common stereo speaker running through a good DSP Module.
So having the CHILDREN’S BAND programmed just shows that he doesn’t have much common sense? Just listening to it or talking on it shows he’s lacking something. He obviously doesn’t need an Amateur Radio License if he talks there.👎🏻💩
Great speaker! I also have one at the stations, it costs a bit but it's worth all the money...
The sound is certainly richer and fuller. That's a nice upgrade!
Yes, it is much better sound definitely :)

hate contest. I like talking and these are a waste of time.
you cover the speaker from radio under a wooden panel.... you are a big punch!
