Fuck I remember when they announced their farewell tour & I asked my mum if I could go but she said I couldn't because the nearest venue was sydney. I was 14 & couldn't get a lift. A few weeks later my cousins were going & I was allowed to go but tickets were sold out. I should have sold my kidney & gotten one of eBay

I love the irony in this song. I live in the same city Powderfinger came from (Brisbane, Australia) and most of you may know that Brisbane lies on the east coast of Australia ie meaning the sunrises over the beaches not sunsets. Just a funny twist I suppose, love this song, love Powderfinger! It's unaustralian not to like them, you know it makes sense!!!

Some say it's a song about his brother who died of cancer. Apparently he moved to Perth before he died, making "sunsets over the beaches from now on" makes sense.
Unsure how true that is, but it's what I have heard.

I was at the first night at Brixton, London - they were wearing the same outfits and that gig was being filmed too - think the DVD might be a mix of different shows from the tour. It's on my Xmas list anyway.
