  • Hey you guys ! Wow! What a groovy voice! This was and interesting song where the lyrics seem to be different than the song! LOL! We were grooving with the song and then we remember that in the lyrics we got this picture of a man who is depressed in a room! OR something to that effect, but the musical aspect of the song was groovy! To be honest, we were expect a sad slow song and we got the opposite! LOL! WE truly enjoyed the song and we hope that you did too! Please stay safe and we'll see you in our next video! We love you guys!

WHITE ROOM, YES!!! One of the best, of many, classic rock songs! Cream have always been one of my favorite groups. Eric Clapton, who plays one mean sounding guitar (he is using what is known as a wah-wah pedal on this song, to get that sound), is also one of my favorite artists, when he went solo. Jack Bruce is the singer and bass player, who composed this song. Ginger Baker played drums and was one of the best. Sad to say, Eric Clapton is the only surviving member of this group. Great sound for the year it came out-1968! Loved how the two of you picked up on the different instruments being played on this song, as you are correct. Another great video reaction, my lovely girls. Great pick by your dad too! Hope to see the two of you react to more Cream as they do have many more great classic songs that need to be explored! Love & Blessings! 💖

Jack Bruce the bassist does the vocal and Eric Clapton shreds on guitar and at this time was called "God" because of his killer playing and those one of a kind drum fills and grooves are done by Ginger Baker. Cream is considered the first supergroup and they back up that claim nicely.

Cream was a supergroup trio made up of Eric Clapton on guitar, Ginger Baker on drums, and Jack Bruce on Bass and vocals. In this song, both Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce shared the singing duties. This song featured Eric Clapton using a cry-baby peddle to get that wah-Wah sound during his solos. A couple other songs you may want to react to are Sunshine of your love and Crossroads.

Its enjoyable to see the reactions of youth to the music I grew up on decades past. As I recall from being a teenager in the early seventies is that there was no internet. So, entertainment often for many was found in music and literatures. Popular literatures among many of the era rock stars seems to reflect classical Greco-Roman literature and forwards like J. R. R. Tolkien who held a bit of cult following in the day, along with Igor Stravinsky, the Firebird.
Consider another masterpiece by Cream, Tales Of Brave Ulysses…It will not disappoint. It coveys the aforementioned interest in classic literature shared among these musicians.

Disraeli Gears (1967) was an appetizer of what could have been. I truly believe Cream would have surpassed the levels of greatness achieved by Led Zeppelin in the 1970s had they stuck together and belted out 10 albums or so. But Jack Bruce was water to Ginger Baker's oil; it wasn't meant to be. Ladies, make sure you listen to the entire album -- each song is a gem, especially Tales of Brave Ulysses.

Another great Cream song is “Tales Of Brave Ulysses” , if you like heavy psychedelic guitar work this song is among the best. There’s a reason that Eric Clapton is considered to be one the greatest guitarists ever. Cream was only together from 1966-1968, they only put out 4 albums when they were together, but those 4 albums were legendary.
Jack Bruce, the bass player, sang this song.
Eric Clapton on guitar, and Ginger Baker on drums. They were called “Cream” because when they got together they were the each considered to be the best at what they did, they were the “cream of the crop” as the saying goes. Eric Clapton is the only one still alive, and he can still play just as well.

Good to see you girls check out some of Eric Clapton's mighty guitar work from the 1960s; he was so much more than the writer and singer of sappy ballads such as "Wonderful Tonight". If you like his use of the wah-wah pedal here, check out Cream's "Tales of Brave Ulysses", which has a similar chord progression to this song. Also, the live track "Crossroads" has an epic Clapton guitar solo and also features him on vocals (bassist Jack Bruce was the main singer in Cream, as he is on "White Room").

The supergroup Blind Faith (Eric Clapton, formerly from Cream, as guitarist: Steve Winwood, formerly from Traffic, as organist and singer; Ginger Baker, formerly from Cream, as drummer; and an excellent bassist/violinist) had a short U.S. tour (14 concerts or so) in July and August of 1969, and my then-17-year-old brother and my then-almost-14-year-old self were fortunate to win tickets to see Blind Faith from a radio contest held by the FM-100 rock radio station in our hometown of Memphis - the tickets were to the tour stop which was geographically "closest" to Memphis, which was the Sunday August 3, 1969 concert at Kiel Auditorium, in St. Louis. My brother and I flew up from Memphis on Delta Airlines, saw a (then-brand-new, premiering) film "2001: A Space Odyssey" in the afternoon, saw the wonderful Blind Faith concert at Kiel, that evening; however, it had some unexpectedly lengthy encores; this caused us to miss our late-night ticketed Delta return flight to Memphis. We tried to hitch-hike (as was mostly quite safe and quite customary, in those years) on the nearby I-55 expressway for a ride to the airport in St. Louis, to call our parents and ask them to wire funds for a new return-flight airline ticket; however, co-incidentally, a trucker who gave us a ride was going not to or near that airport, but was going straight through (in the wee hours of the morning of Monday the 4th) to a truck stop in West Memphis, Arkansas, before heading on I-40 south to Little Rock in Arkansas; of course, from our perspectives, it was a thousand times better and cheaper to do this, than to have gone to the St. Louis airport. We could then call our parents in Memphis from the truck stop in West Memphis, and explain the situation (there were no cellphones back then which would have allowed for an earlier call), and they were so delighted that we were both still alive and well that my father (a self-employed artist) left his office and picked us both us from the truck stop in West Memphis -- with NO questions asked !!!!! GREAT Memories -- except for the worries of my parents !!!!!

Cream are probably the greatest 3 piece Band in history.
They were short lived ( on purpose ) approximately 2.5 years.
I rate Ginger Baker to be slightly ahead of John Bonham as the best Drummer in history.
Jack Bruce on Fretless Bass & Lead Vocals is a GOD.
Eric ' Slowhand ' Clapton on Guitar is in the Top 5 of all time.
This will always be in my Top 50 songs of all time.
It moves me and takes me to places I wish I could stay.
Just when you think the song is ending, they break into one of the greatest Outros in music history.................

As a drummer-I could play anything Baker does in my sleep-people always tell me I sound like him...but it's easy. OTOH Bonham's polyrhythm's are on another level and take serious work to get right. Regardless....the top 10 list of best drummers of all time starts off with about 8 jazz drummers. Buddy Rich was playing vaudeville at 4 years old. By 15 he had his own international touring band.

Great vocal by Jack Bruce interpreting the range of bummed out feelings after meeting a girl at a party and wandering around in emotional overload after seeing her leave at the train station...probably all metaphors for a variety of (ab)normal disillusions

This has to be one of the best tunes I've ever heard. I don't quite get the lyrics, but that doesn't matter. The mysteriousness of the lyrics just adds to appeal of the tune. The instrumentation/jamming and the use of his voice is about as good as it gets!

The lyric writer was poet Pete Brown, who wasn’t a band member, hence the strange words. The singer was Scottish bass player and multi instrumentalist Jack Bruce, who was the main song writer in the group, although both guitarist Eric Clapton & drummer Peter ‘Ginger’ Baker both made song contributions solo and collaborations. Eric and Ginger were London lads with Jack from Glasgow, where he studied cello originally. Great to see you enjoying this song, which I enjoyed as a 14 year old in 1968. 👍😁

3 of the top level musicians of the era, they had a poet, Pete Brown, who helped with their lyrics -- these verses show that collaboration:
I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves
You said no strings could secure you at the station
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows
I walked into such a sad time at the station
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning
I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves

When I saw an iteration of the band, with Bruce and Baker, but two guitarists in place of Clapton...as I was paying for the ticket, the first song began. It was this one. I was in Heaven, as it seemed an impossibility, it being in the '80s at this point. Everyone there, young and old, were singing along, knowing all the words. So cool to see that it still lives, in new ears.
