    Great video Noah and the guys! I’m so happy for you guys getting to hang out and do what you love! I hope the herping continues to produce for you and you see some cool stuff! For some reason I did not get the notification for this video! This has been happening lately, but I don’t know why. 🤔 Good thing it came up in the recommended videos. I just love watching your videos and seeing your adventures. Have a great day! 😄💙🐬🐊🐍

    Garter snake gets extra points for eating bullfrog. Unfortunately, our west Oregon garters are not big enough to do that. Nice to see so many reptiles in Nebraska!

    😂 That split second when you think a beaver is out in the middle of nowhere NE. My kind of herping, just exploring along the way and seeing what crosses your path. NE is underrated.

    Very nice. Carl Kauffeld of "Snakes and Snake Hunting" fame considered the Plains gartersnake to be one of the most beautiful snakes on the continent. The very prettiest i've seen were on the plains of southern Alberta, terrain very similar to what we see in your vid here. There they are a study in deep saturated blacks dark greens, yellows, turquoises and vibrant orange and the females get hefty. They never fail to stun me with their beauty, leading a person to wonder why they are so vibrant in a landscape of such muted tones. Nice to see a trip to the Great Plains, one of the most spectacular landscapes on earth.

      A little bit of everything. I grew up catching snakes (my Dad and Steve Irwin got me into it), pursued it as a hobby during my childhood and teenage years. Read a lot of books and online articles, scientific papers, etc. Went to college for two years before I started focusing on the channel, and I’ve been making videos since then!

    Pet snake keepers are told not to handle their snakes for a day or two after eating to prevent regurgitation. That makes me wonder about wild snakes with a meal in them. Could the handling stress make them regurgitate, too?

    • @NKFherping
      @NKFherping  2 года назад +1

      It can, and that’s why we make interactions brief with animals we know have recently eaten. It usually takes an excessive amount of harassment to induce regurgitation though, more than we ever want to put an animal through under normal circumstances.
