This is the first time I've seen this technique - I love the materials and colours that you use. Beautiful work!

Love this reminds me of some old rugs I saw in a textile museum. Do you think this idea could be done with cotton calico or would that be too thin.

If it was thick it might work. I have considered upholstery fabric samples, but I have so many blankets.

Is the strips used in this process from wool items that are felted?

Hi Janis. I wash the blankets in hot water so they felt, but I have used the technique on wool blankets that haven't been felted and the results are good.

    how does one wash them?

Mine hang on the wall so don't need washing. I vacuum or if they have a mark I would use a wet wipe.

    Can one use thinner strips?

    • @kiramead2454

Yes you can, but if I'm using thinner strips I sew them instead of using hot glue. There needs to be enough space to sew the back together. Thinner strips means a higher chance of burns from the hot glue gun. My technique is constantly being developed, I mostly sew them now. Follow me on Facebook to see the changes.

I wondered for quite a while now if these could b made with cheap throw blankets from Walmart. Guess they could couldn’t they. Sewed or hot glued. Maybe not as tall sometimes. Thank u for this video.
