Hey up Dan, The instructions are correct for the telescopic magnet with LED, if read correctly. It says to take the batteries out of the plastic container then put them back in in reverse. Then put the plastic holder with the batteries reversed into the tool. Or that's how I read it ATB
Hi Dan. Great video again. Went to the Lidl in Felixstowe last weekend, more tools than Aldi but not so much choice because of Christmas stuff. Thanks Dan. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete and Su....
Hiya Dan loved the video as always. You are bang on regarding expensive drills as the electric Parkside one looks a beauty for a fraction of the cost and the cordless ones appear cheap until you add in the battery and charger.
As usual another great video showing us what's available. I do like the electric drill, especially how you can control the drill speed by a dial. Very useful for many intricate jobs. Cheers mate, all the best Dan. Kevin 🧏♂️🛠👍🤝
I purchased the telescopic magnet and mirror. I hadn’t noticed that it had a light. Thanks for sharing and I will learn by your experience! Excellent video.
The amount of tools I’ve had from Lidl over the years! They are cheap and surprisingly good. My late father in law was a big fan of them and I inherited quite a few from him. The only items I’ve been disappointed with have been their shop vacuums, none of which have lasted more than a year or two. All the best, Rob
I live about 150 yards from a branch of Lidl and have just returned from shopping there. The drills etc. are all empty boxes as a security measure, which is irritating as I like to handle something before buying. Most of the smaller stuff has been replaced on the shelves by Xmas stuff so roll on January. Keep up the good work Dan.
I was shouting at the screen when I saw you put the batteries in the extender without the plastic cover, thinking it won't work 😆. I live in France (if I won something I would get you to send it to one of my kids in the UK), we have Aldi & Lidl, but we have 2 other shops that we can get cheap tools. One is called Action who does small things for the home, tools, toys, craft, etc. The other is called Noz, who sell liquidation stuff, you could find anything, a bit like a jumble sale. Great video, thank you.
Great video Dan - I'm always amazed at the amount of stuff your able to get from Aldi and Lidl I live in an area with a few of these stores to choose from yet non of them seem to carry that much in the tool isles so when I find something decent I grab it
Hi Dan my Lidl & Aldi stores are fairly small compared with others so the middle aisle isn't always that great, if I had of found a set of calipers at ours would have definitely bought. What you're saying regarding the price of cordless tools is exactly what I realised I'm still waiting for the corded jigsaw. Stay safe!
I wondered why you removed the plastic sleeve from the telescopic led magnet as it was insulating the batteries from the metal housing, like you said bad instructions, another enjoyable video Dan,congratulations to your latest giveaway winners and good luck to your viewers for the next one 👍
Can't fault these videos, Dan. I'm a huge fan of your railway output, but understand why these videos are so popular. I have a set of the Lidl calipers, which are very useful when modelling. Mine have the better black case, too. I bought them on the back of your original review of them some time ago.
Popped in for a look at our new local Aldi and grabbed a pack of those clamps for just £3.99! Nothing there indicating the price had been higher, but even 7 quid is pretty good for the biggest ones alone. Cordless tools these days are great but a decent mains drill is handy when you can't justify buying an SDS but have occasional jobs needing a bit of sustained brutality, like pipe run for an outside tap. Yeah, Lidl and Aldi brochures this week are nothing but dull Christmas junk - we need our fix of mad random hobby gear. 🙃
You made a wise choice with the drill I have the cordless one as a second for home as my primary is at work The cordless is gutless and not worth having as and when aldi have the ferrex twin set in stock I shall be aquireing them as my work zone one is excellent
great vid of the tools you got as always the light is good lots cool things you got drill look great nice bin keep up the great vid on your channel dan keep up the great share on channel i give calerper a good home in my tool box thanks lee
I agree with you, Dan. When first starting out in life or work, it's what you can afford, and when it finally wears out back track then divide the costs by the months owned, and you'll probably find that they work out better value than a much dearer option. Plus, you tend to use and abuse cheaper products as they seem to be made indestructible!
Thanks for an awesome video as always! Been looking at those digital calipers but there are so many tools to get as a new hobbyist that i haven't invested in them yet. Might do it after this tho :)
Hi dan been decorating drill packed up. As i am now dealing with fixing my model railway been watching your videos this morning and drill looks good rang wife who was in lidl and they had none.Got to rebuild the model drill would be handy David Merritt Cheers
I agree with your comments about the tools sold without batteries or chargers. They do not even offer a starter pack which would contain a Tool, Battery & Charger which would allow you to walk away with an operable system, you could then add additional items and batteries as required. As you remarked you bought a £20 drill which was plug and play no additional items needed.
If they put tools complete with battery and chargers on the shelves they would get stolen, no doubt about it. Maybe they should have such a kit where you just have to collect the battery and charger at the till included in the price. Simple enough to do surely?
The "One Shop" in Rothwell had a bin full of LED work lights for £2, magnetic back with 3 AAA batteries, very passable and Bright, for 2 quid though. Good enough stuck to our boiler in the cupboard. Admittedly, yours are much better.
Blimey that battery drill you were talking about was expensive, I got a bosh one in a case with two batteries for around 50 quid, they did the same thing with a multi tool I think it was about 19.99 and I thought wow that's great the realised you had to buy a battery and charger separately 😢so didn't bother, love the comment keep away from children...yeah I got five😂😂
At 20 quid for a hammer drill, doesn't matter if it only lasts a few weeks. As lidls tools are good quality it should last almost a lifetime if looked after though
Thought they were running down the middle isle now that they are both established, as for months never see much in either Lidl or Aldi, perhaps a token drill or battery charger but that's it.
Hey up Dan, The instructions are correct for the telescopic magnet with LED, if read correctly. It says to take the batteries out of the plastic container then put them back in in reverse. Then put the plastic holder with the batteries reversed into the tool. Or that's how I read it ATB
Nice video.. watch them a lot to see if anything interesting is in the stores but don't always get chance to go in and get them before they go
Hi Dan.
Great video again.
Went to the Lidl in Felixstowe last weekend, more tools than Aldi but not so much choice because of Christmas stuff.
Thanks Dan.
Thumbs up thumped 👍
....Pete and Su....
Great info, I’m inspired to get out there and check what’s on their shelves now. 👍
Great video ....
Nice to learn what tools can be used on railway
Thank you 😊
Looking forward to the massive giveaway but in the meantime, I would really love those callipers for checking the back to back

Great video, good to see what's on offer, I go past an Aldi every day. I'll have to take a visit and see what they've got. 👍
Great deal on that drill. Nice that it has a hammer feature, it will probably last you a while too since it’s corded. Not much to go wrong with it.
I purchased the telescopic magnet and mirror. I hadn’t noticed that it had a light. Thanks for sharing and I will learn by your experience! Excellent video.
Hi Dan, love the video, please can we have more gems or junk videos , cheers, Pete.👍

Great video. I really like the calipers. Parkside stuff is so underrated imho. Keep the videos coming
Great tools again. Those digital callipers work well. Good luck to everyone.

Great tools again Dan. Must get up to my local Aldi/Lidl to see what's in. Cheers 👍
Good video Dan, the liddle near me doesn't always have the latest tools in stock so it's good to see what really is available in the middle isles
Love these videos Dan! I watch one of these and suddenly I have a reason to go to Lidl or Aldi!
Good video, always enjoy these, very comprehensive. Thank you.
Great video as always, keep up the great work.

Joe
My drill has just packed in so that Parkside Hammer Drill would be really handy - thanks for video
Great video - I got the spring clamps for £3.99 - had just been reduced
That drill looks great value.
The digital calipers look good and made of metal unlike my plastic ones.
I was shouting at the screen when I saw you put the batteries in the extender without the plastic cover, thinking it won't work 😆.

Great video Dan - I'm always amazed at the amount of stuff your able to get from Aldi and Lidl I live in an area with a few of these stores to choose from yet non of them seem to carry that much in the tool isles so when I find something decent I grab it

Another good general review on tools that are available at the two stores. Limited stocks of tools in both at the moment because of Xmas products.
Some handy well made tools there.👍
Yes agree that the plastic case needs to be kept on

Another great video
I bought a new step ladder the other day, it came complete with a 14 page “Instructions for use”!!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Great video as always Dan
It’s great to know what tools are available
Looking forwards to the 'everything must go' episode!
As always another great video!
You use the clamps to THREATEN the kids!
"Be quiet or i'll clamp you to a door!!"
So strong there's no way they escape
Always enjoy a aldi / lidl video.
More useful and affordable tools 👍
Drill looks ok for the price,
I am gutted i missed the hammer drill - currently borrowing my dads ancient Bosch
The "One Shop" in Rothwell had a bin full of LED work lights for £2, magnetic back with 3 AAA batteries, very passable and Bright, for 2 quid though. Good enough stuck to our boiler in the cupboard. Admittedly, yours are much better.
Great tools not much in lidl at moment as u say xmas stuff lol
Blimey that battery drill you were talking about was expensive, I got a bosh one in a case with two batteries for around 50 quid, they did the same thing with a multi tool I think it was about 19.99 and I thought wow that's great the realised you had to buy a battery and charger separately 😢so didn't bother, love the comment keep away from children...yeah I got five😂😂
The digital callipers were a bargain 👍👍
Hi Dan, very useful video on what is on after at the stores. I’ll put the drill onto my Dad’s wish list for Xmas as an idea for my kids.
Bin is always useful
Ahhh digital calipers. Never had them. Still use a ruler to measure when I need it.
Also did my prize from a previous giveaway get sent? Just curious in case I have to beat the postman up lol
Ive been thinking about getting some of the spring clamps. I have a small set from pound land but any form of lateral pressure and they snap off
I like Aldi as its 1 mile away , Aldi is about 4 , either the drill or calipers would be useful .
Oops Lidle is 1 mile away Aldi 4
At 20 quid for a hammer drill, doesn't matter if it only lasts a few weeks. As lidls tools are good quality it should last almost a lifetime if looked after though
Don’t forget sale of goods act when your warranty is finished remember also it is the shop,
Who sold you it is the warranty givers.
Thought they were running down the middle isle now that they are both established, as for months never see much in either Lidl or Aldi, perhaps a token drill or battery charger but that's it.
i would like the hammer drill
let the 3 battreis stay in plastic cylinder and it going to work no problem with the battre hej from sweden
