    Dusting off my SR10 and Midland 75-822 as I’m writing this. I completely forgot how easy this setup works. Thanks for making the video. It’s still very useful.

    Great video, thanks ! This device just misses a voice control activation, meaning no PPT button needed. I used to have this option with a Midland BTX2FM working with a Midland G8E-BT CB Radio, the voice was activated directly when speaking and the intercom was coupled to the Midland 2 ways radio CB. That was a great setup, very convenient with only 1 intercom and a 2 ways radio CB, easy and powerful. I remember over 10 km discussion with a friend in Scotland. Unfortunately Midland has retired the G8E-BT...

      Did you ever buy the set-up? I did but have difficulty hearing above 50 mph with my Sena.

    Could not find the SENA SR10 device for sale (by SENA). I have the same Midland 75-822 CB Radio. So, instead utilized a Wireless BT Adapter (HB-6A) and Remote PTT (Key) (HB-6B) units which are battery powered and mini-USB rechargeable. Paired the BT Adapter with my SENA 20S EVO Headset. Works Great! Overcome the mechanical (physical) constraint of mating the HB-6A Device directly to the Radio, by using (making) a short extension cable.

      I have the same Midland 75-822 CB Radio on my Motorcycle. Could not find the SENA SR10 device for sale (by SENA). So, instead utilized a Wireless BT Adapter (HB-6A) and Wireless Remote PTT (Key) (HB-6B) units which are battery powered and USB rechargeable. $30 for the pair, plus $15 to $20 for (10 - 15 day) shipping. The Remote PTT is nice since no wiring is required. Velcro strapped (provided) to left handlebar grip; thumb activated. Red light activates when PTT active. Paired the BT Adapter with the Remote PTT unit. Then, paired the BT Adapter with my SENA 20S EVO Helmet Headset. Works Great! Overcome the mechanical (physical) constraint (clearance issues) of mating the HB-6A Device directly to my version of Midland CB Radio, by using (making) a short extension cable. There are off the shelf 2-pin molded extension cables for purchase, but a little expensive to me. Other Midland Portable/Handheld Radio models would allow for direct connection of the 2-pin BT Adapter. The BT Adapter HB-6A-I model/version purchased is for ICOM (I1 & I2) Radios. Same 2-pin 2.5mm (2-pole TS) Microphone/PTT & 3.5mm (2-pole TS) Speaker interface as the Midland CB Radio connecters. Can pair BT Adapter to SENA Headset as a second mobile phone or as GPS. Can provide (via cable) USB +5Vdc power to the BT Adapter while in operation and installed on the Motorcycle. Although, the 7 to 9 hours of battery life is adequate for my daily rides. BT Adapter has a 400mAh battery life. The Remote PTT unit battery life is identified as 3-months. The HB-6A-I BT Adapter 2-pin 2.5mm to 3.5mm Center-to-Center pin spacing is 10mm. Other BT Adapter models are available for other Radios with K-Type (11mm) and M-Type (8mm) Center-to-Center pin spacing. The marking on the BT Adapter box received for the ICOM HB-6A-I unit is further identified as 'ModelTC-IM V8'. Consider adding these identification markings as a comment as special additional instructions when ordering online.

      In regards to the short extension cable, located an off-the-shelf cable. ICOM Right Angle Adapter Cable, 2-Pin Male to 2-Pin Female. Part Number OPC2144. 9-Inches overall length. Flexible. Right Angle end at Radio 2-pin Male end. Opposite end is straight 2-pin Female. The cable exits the Radio allowing maximum clearance for the Squelch & Volume knobs.
      This OPC2144 Extension Adapter cable supports 3 signals per each connector, for a total of 6 signals. The Midland 75-822 2.5mm Microphone connector supports a 2-pole TS (pin-1 MIC/PTT, pin-2 Ground) or a 3-pole TRS (pin-1 MIC/PTT, pin-2 no connect, pin-3 Ground) and the 3.5mm Speaker connector supports a 2-pole TS (pin-1 Speaker, pin-2 Ground), but also accepts a 3-pole TRS (pin-1 Speaker, pins 2 & 3 Ground).

    Nice video. When you press the PTT button to make the CB radio transmit, is there any delay between when you press the button and when the radio starts transmitting. What I mean is, do you need to wait for a second after pressing the button before speaking to avoid the other person missing the first part of what you said, or does the radio start to transmit as soon as you press the PTT button?

      Hi Steven, Thanks for the nice compliment on the video. Kathy and I use these many times a year for company rides and moto marshaling bicycle events. In other words we are users. ;-) There is little or no delay in transmit. You can always hear the first letter of each word. When you release the button THEN there is a 3 to 10 second delay before it lets loose the signal. This can be set by you. Of course the least is the best, 3 seconds is as low as it goes. Then your music comes back on. Hope this helps and I answered the question.

    Hi Richard, as I understand you can connect SR10 to your GPS and phone... when pillion calls you over radio is the GPS automatically muted? What happens when you have a phone call during communication with pillion? I am trying to find an intercom that can connect with GPS and phone but same time to have instant connection to the pillion when needed. PTT ot WOX doesn`t matter.

      SOOOO Sorry I missed your comment!!! I am not exactly sure what you want. Sometime you cannot get there from here ;-) Between the SENA HS and SR10 seems you can do something that would accommodate your needs. Go to the RKA SENA Instructional Page here: rka-luggage.com/A46%20SENA/Video%20Instructional%20Page.html
      Download and read the manuals for the SR10 start on page 16, and 20S headsets on using the phone with a passenger ..... I think this should lay it all out for you. Again sorry I missed your post. Richard RKA

    Great video. Thank you for that. My question is how well does that Midland CB radio working for you on your bike? Good signal both ways?

    • @Richardrka1
      @Richardrka1  6 лет назад

      Hi Mark, A trick question, I'll try to be short ;-) Been doing CB since 1972, 23 channel .... I have a four foot fire stick and coax adapter (1.2 SWR) so I can change from the rubber duckie anytime I want. They both receive and transmit the same. A motorcycle does not have a good ground plane. So range is limited to that, only a mile or so transmit and 5 to 30 miles receive depending on the wattage the 30 mile away trucker is using with his 120 inch dual antennas and 80 thousand pound ground plane. ;-) The answer is the Midland 75-822 is the very best application for this application. Do I get a "A+" ;-) Richard www.rka-luggage.com/A41%20Newsletter/2016/Feb%202016%20Newsletter/RT_CB_RADAR_iPhone/R1200RT_Mom's%20Run_0_bi.jpg

    Hi Richard; will I be able to switch to listen to music from the headset (supposed to connect to my mobile phone) when I want to ?

    • @Richardrka1
      @Richardrka1  7 лет назад

      You will be listening to music all the time, except when transmitting or getting a radar audio alert. The SR10 only engages when transmitting/receiving a radio signal or getting a radar audio alert. It switches back automatically within a few seconds when not hearing an audio signal.

    If I talk into a Bluetooth headset such as a Sena 10 R and have a 2 way radio connected to the Sena SR10 will other group members strictly on 2 way radios be able to hear me as well? Or only the person on the radio connected to the SR10?

    • @Richardrka1
      @Richardrka1  7 лет назад

      Hi J, The SENA SR10 allows you to use a two way radio as it is meant to be with your Bluetooth headset. When you press the SR10's PTT button for the CB/FRS radio everyone with two way radios on your channel can hear you. When you release the PTT button after 3 seconds the signal is released (This delay is so another radio can respond before the signal stops so the radio conversation stays smooth) and you are back to Bluetooth. Now all you Bluetooth connections can hear you but not CB/FRS radios until you press the PTT.
