Love your videos, living in Melbourne where coffee is king I’m sure your on to an absolute winner. With your entertaining videos your hard graft is going to pay off in more ways than one. Good Luck guys!
Now that the CRT says you can cruise a bit and the 14 day restriction etc has been reimposed...will you have to leave your mooring?? And then there is the Daisy the Duck. If you don't have to move the "live aboard" boat perhaps you could make a ramp from the boat down to the water where it would float. That is what my friend did. They used a plastic floaty pool thing (LOL), attached it to the side of the pool and then let the other end float on the water?? The little guys seem to love it. It occurs to me that they wont all be able to live in that tub....seriously Daisy what were you thinking.
Your boat life looks absolutely idyllic! My boyfriend and I have been saving for our first boat for three years now and we are hopefully going to view one next week! Best of luck with the renovation!
Probably the most engaging tubing channel on narrow boating life. Your style is excellent. I understand your fears of filming in public. I hope the cafe works for you and well done for doing your own fit-out. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler!
That's lovely to hear, thanks Chris. Good spot - they are the chimney coolers at Ratcliffe -on-soar! Are you having your boat built at Redhill? Ours went in the water there for the first time so we have fond memories of the place! Thanks for watching and commenting :-)
An excellent and interesting video vlog. I too will be joining narrow-boating life as soon as I find my dream boat to fix up, or maybe even an empty shell to kit out.
Thanks Richard! Ah that's very exciting, good luck with the boat hunt. As novices at boat fitting it's been difficult at times but really rewarding. Hope you find your dream project. Thanks for watching :-)
13:23 that was the loudest narrowboat that I have heard... Quite the exhaust on that little 3 or 4 cylinder, it even has turbo's on it! Oh that explains it! 👍😎
I think that was a British Rail Class 55 Deltic locomotive. It's an heritage loco-- notice it wasn't in service. The appellation "deltic" comes from the triangular arrangement of the engine's cylinders.

I filled my raft with ice chests of water, soda, and pre-made (by me) sandwiches all fresh and rowed the river every weekend in summer and sold (had a restaurant license) to hungry thirsty folks both on the boats and those who lined the river banks....great fun for me and a chance to expand my business in the summer. Good luck with your venture. I had a similar task when I introduced a coffee shop in a book store I had purchased some years ago. This was in the USA and I am sure the building/ fire regs and health department would have made it impossible to install on a narrow boat. What are the permitting rules in the UK? Here all public access buildings/structures must be wheel chair accessible, have wheel chair access bathroom. fire alarm systems and a food prep/ service layout approved by the health, building and fire departments.
