  • I loooooooove this species - the little auricles that pop out are amazing! They're also pretty huge as far as rotifers go and, this is going to sound crazy, but I think they might be sort of social? I always see them palling around with each other on the slides, almost like bonded pair cats.

So I think so, but also I don't see the same sac of crystals on this one - perhaps the other had a medical condition?

@@apank21 Could be! If you go to this point in my recent VOD - you can see the mysterious birefringent sac make another appearance in polarized DF illumination! ruclips.net/video/UXWBYkLcppQ/видео.html

I like darkfield but I just cant get friend with Phase Contrast. ^-^
DIC is of course unbeaten. Both in price and performance 😄

Haha, I sort of agree about phase contrast but, for SOME things, it can look kinda nice - I like how spirogyra looks in PC. It's best suited for small and/or nearly transparent stuff, though. It is especially useful for making bacteria stand out!

It is filmed with your new camera?

Yes indeed! The old A7III will be relegated to a facecam or maybe as a secondary cam in future videos. All my work will be with the FX3 unless otherwise indicated!
