      Oxbow has a Papaya Support Tablet which contains the active enzymes of Papaya and Pineapple that helps in the breakdown of fur and aids in digestion..

    The video is great! I would just add that, if your bunny stops pooping, don't ever feed critical care without being checked by a vet first. They could have a blockage and force feeding could make it worse

    Thank you! We just adopted a bunny. Fed only pellets and hay for the first week, then gave fresh greens (1 romaine leaf). That night, I noticed runny cecotropes. We cut her pellets in half, added hay in more places in her enclosure to encourage her to eat more of it (its not helping with potty training, but healthy git seems more important), and it seems to have gotten better. We will stick with it for at least a week without her having a messy butt (she HATES being cleaned!) before we try to slowly add fresh greens back in.

    Your video was great, very engaging! I know I'm late to the show but I felt like I needed to address two issues.
    #1 - never assist feed until your rabbit savvy vet has confirmed NO blockage. You can try to entice them to eat on their own, but no Critical Care or Sherwood Recovery food.
    #2 occurs right after #1, when discussing NO POOP you say to call your vet ✅ and get them eating THEN you say give papaya, pineapple or pineapple juice 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻. Stay away from "sweet" things, especially pineapple juice! Sweet things can make stasis WORSE. Please discuss with your vet because I'm not a vet...just a rabbit rescuer with years of experience.

  • @theambassadorkosh
    @theambassadorkosh 3 года назад +1

    I have 4 , 3 month old bunnies and I’ve had them for about a month now, one is a dwarf lop and the rest are regular lops. Weirdly the dwarf lop always have cecotropes and all 4 of them weirdly just want pellets as food and will only eat hay when they haven’t had pellets all day, is there a fix to this by any chance ? Or an explanation as to why ? Thank you !

    • @dariatabai2217

      pellets aren’t always necessary as long as you’re feeding enough protein, you can completely skip pellets on the condition that you’re still providing a well rounded diet.

      I'm not her but I hope I can help in case she doesn't see this since she gets a lot of comments. Try mixing different hays, my bunny started eating more hay after I brought a hay blend (Oxbow Timothy + Orchard hay, but I'm sure other brands also have some). Try putting forage treats in the hay, they come in little bags and have dried flowers n fruit in them. Morgan has a great video about hay as well, you can check it out which can also help you.
