    I appreciate the funky camera/less editing style of these quarantine videos so much. It's so humanizing. "Lemon zest- if you have it. Or any green stuff! Here's my fridge."

    Melissa, I want you to know that I added anchovies (beautiful plump white ones) as well as one can each of tuna in olive oil and in water. Magnificent. Next time I will add some vegetables to kind of lighten the dish and add some textural interest. Also maybe some roasted or fried lemon.
    My dad requested an encore for a future Shabbat dinner. ;)

    Your spice drawer is wonderful. Mine is a cabinet of eight drawers that my parents made, when they were first married. Dad did the carpentry, Mum painted the herbs on the fronts of the drawers. There's even a gap at thhe top of the garlic drawer, for better air circulation!

    I did add a few anchovies and that was a great addition. I used small white beans I cooked up last week and added some leftover spinach gratin and diced red pepper. This is a great dish for adding whatever you have leftover in your fridge. It was delicious and tasted a lot fancier than a tuna casserole.

    I always would hide different ingredients in my dishes too. Like graded carrots in my spaghetti sauce, puree mushrooms in my meatloaf, crumbled tofu in a rice and cheese dish. My three kids never knew anything untill they were adults and tried to make there favorite dishes themselves and I had to let the cat out of the bag so to speak.

    Great video, love ideas for cooking from my pantry. One question: where did you get the red pot holder glove? It looks like a good one for holding hot and potentially slippery handles.

    I’ve opted for EVAKs for my dry spices because they squeeze out all the air after each access, even as the contents dwindle. Better mouse-trap👍

    • @lisawallace1741

    • @philodygmn
      @philodygmn 4 года назад

      Lisa Wallace Here’s the manufacturer. I opted for their mini’s for spices, but I’m not sure they still make those. The larger ones I use for things like beans and sesame seeds. In any event, here’s the “family of products” page for EVAK, now owned by Prepara (originally a Kickstarter, I think): prepara.com/collections/evak-storage

    I cannot understand a lot of what Melissa is saying, which distracts from the experience, which is unfortunate because I have a lot of tuna, too, and have little idea of what to do with it.
