Hi Katie! I was wondering if you could do a OnceUponAPointe video talking about the studio you grew up dancing in. If you are doing another q and a I would also love if you could talk about developing artistry in ballets with no storyline like Serenade.
Oh finally! Glad you're doing better Katie. I know that the last couple of months weren't the easiest to go through but you really look better than ever at the moment. Just keep up the momentum. ;)
Awww, thank you so much for sharing with us! ...such beautiful pictures and special memories. What a wonderful legacy in ballet you have with memories to last a lifetime... and, I'm sure, so many more memories you'll create with ballet in the future!
Oh wow SAB sounds so cool. Amazing that you went there!!!!!! And Jan Burkhard guest teaches at my ballet school over the summer. Awesome that you danced with her!!!! Thanks Katie!!!!!! I love your videos!!!! Keep them coming please!!
I was born in 2005! Haha! this was such an amazing video, now I can put all those names to faces!!!!! More videos like this would be amazing! Can't wait to see you in a new video! You look amazing btw, and your fitness journey has been so inspirational!

i love you're videos, plis plis do some video abou how to return to ballet after not do+ing anything and how to recover what you lost and look so amaizing like you.. kisses!! you look fantastic!!
So thankful for new videos! This one was so fun ☺️ Pointe shoe question, what is the technique/fitting issue if the shoes twist and break in very low? I have a student with this issue and I showed her your trick for turning the shoe out and sliding it along the big toe to help with the twisting problem, but that hasn't totally remedied the issue.
This is so sweet! What an amazing keepsake of that time in your life, thank you for sharing it with all of us! Can you do a video on the makeup you're wearing in this video? I love it!
The photos record what a talent she was in her early years at SAB and in NYCB. She just shot to the top at NYCBallet. I recall, I often saw her perform. Life is so sad, she has fought such a fight to continue dancing. It has taken so much out of her. And to lose it all, so young, so young. It is a lost love. Can that love be expressed in another form? By teaching? Handing down to young dancers what SAB gave to her?
She’s a courageous girl isn’t she. I really can’t imagine how difficult this must have been, to work so hard to reach your goals and then to have something beyond your control take it away. The fact that she has taken the adage that the show must go on, if not the expected way, but another way shows you just what grit and determination this young woman has. I can’t help but feel a bit angry with NYCB for the way that they have treated her, it’s their loss and our gain at the end of the day, but it has turned me a bit off NYCB.
@@mcgil8891 she developed a thyroid illness, which was causing her to gain weight and lose her hair, she struggled for two years, then finally took a break from NYCB to get well. But NYCB really just cut her loose, even after she got on top of her illness. She is such a beautiful dancer to watch, and isn’t that what art is supposed to be about? Isn’t that the whole point of the ballet? To be captivated and transported away into another place...as the song goes, everything is beautiful at the ballet...or at least it used to be, the illusion has been a bit shattered now we have to think of dancers as athletes rather than dancers, and it’s more about who can wrap their legs around their heads, rather than beautiful lines, and musicality, and story telling. As I said, NYCB’s loss. That happens tho, when a company becomes stale under poor leadership.
Wow! Love those videos, so fun and entertaining. Bth,can you PLEASE do a video about “how to get into SAB”, some tips maybe? Because I am gonna audition next year and I am SO nervous.
You have not changed from your SAB days. Fun fact: Gary Sheldon the orchestra conductor of Miami City Ballet adjudicated me in a competition that I did alongside other well known conductors in Miami 😃❤️
Do you know anything about training with scoliosis? I have scoliosis and also winged scapula, and it makes me look so much bigger than I actually am because one side of my rib cage sticks out in the back 😭
Hi Kathryn I love all your videos x love this idea and I would really like to do it too so I can look back at it in the future ! Did you get your pictures professionally shot and sent to you? Also where did you buy the photo albums is very nice !! Xx
Hi Katie. I was not accepted into the SAB summer course this year, but it is my dream school. i feel like i have improved a lot this year, do you think i still have a chance?

What happened to her? Why did she have to stop?
@@virginiaviola5097 how did nycb treat her?

@@virginiaviola5097 ohh nycb rejected her because she wasn't "athlete" enough? But they could have taken her and she'd learn it along the way.
You look almost the same now! Which I think is a good thing lol. Who wants to look old right 🤷🏽♀️
Yayyy il the ouap vids!!
Glad to see you back😄
Wow! Love those videos, so fun and entertaining. Bth,can you PLEASE do a video about “how to get into SAB”, some tips maybe? Because I am gonna audition next year and I am SO nervous.
Did you get in?
can you do a video about confidence & how to boost your confidence as a dancer.
Kathryn, your nails are beautifully polished and gracefully shaped. What brand and shade of polish do you use? Your fingers are lovely.
You have not changed from your SAB days. Fun fact: Gary Sheldon the orchestra conductor of Miami City Ballet adjudicated me in a competition that I did alongside other well known conductors in Miami 😃❤️
Didn’t we all try on pointe shoes before we were ready? 👀
Welcome back! Tutorials plz.
Did you ever dance with Mary Helen Bowers? I Know she's a bit older than you, but I don't know how much older, or when she left NYCB.
Love your hair
Do you know anything about training with scoliosis? I have scoliosis and also winged scapula, and it makes me look so much bigger than I actually am because one side of my rib cage sticks out in the back 😭
