Ive seen alot of people say their new album isnt good. But dude....its just as amazing as the first two albums. I like the darker side more shoegazey side. DIIV is my fav band. And they fucking deliver when they play live. They were patient with the crowd here in vegas when the crowd kept saying "play your old shit" like dude chill they wanna show us their new shit first! I can't wait to see them again.
Whoever is saying it isn’t good, has bad ears. That’s a good album.

Lol the first two times ive seen them live the complained the whole time, watched the clock like a hawk, and left immediately when the clock ticked. I wouldnt say they deliver live

Absolutely incredible performance! Many great bands play live technically quite... not as in studio. But these guys plays live better than most band do in studio, especially rhythmically.
Deceiver is their best album.

@@PakkiNakki it does have some influence but i wouldn't say full on shoegaze not up until this album they really added more elements like big noisy guitars a la MBV
Oshin is more dreampop than shoegaze, the only real shoegaze song off of Oshin is Wait.

I'm wondering if they will start to incorporate a bit more material from their first two albums. The majority of their setlist for this tour is from Deceiver (no problem - it's a great record, and after all, it is the Deceiver tour), but it would be great to hear songs like 'Follow', 'Wait', 'Out of Mind', 'Dopamine', etc be alongside some of the heavier new material. Perhaps they might do this on the European tour next year...
It's a very good point, Patrick. The "old" songs that they do play sound great with that extra layer of fuzz on top! I'm pretty sure that it will happen...

@@PakkiNakki I was very lucky to catch them in London, but sadly they couldn't finish the tour because of Covid-19 :/ Really sad...
@@patrickel94 damn. they would've come to my city in europe and i could've seen them live for the first time too. most of their songs sound better live from what i've seen, plus experiencing it in person would've been awesome
@@PakkiNakki Hopefully you will get to see them live post-pandemic! I've seen them perform twice - the first in 2015 in Birmingham when they were trialling/previewing material from Is The Is Are (which was a really crazy, wild and high energy show - especially from the audience), and the second in London on their last tour, which was mostly the new songs on Deceiver, mixed in with Oshin and ITIA material - though that time round everything was at the same tempo as the records. For earlier shows, they always used to speed up the songs for live performance. They're a fantastic band live - so definitely catch them when they're next performing near you :)

New DIIV isn’t the same...still amazingly innovative music. However, they’ve lost that edge of what they were. I still wholeheartedly love this new album...it’s just very different from their roots. Maybe that’s a good thing though for them...I’ve read there were a lot of drugs involved before. Best of luck boys...
artists lose their edge as they age, it's natural :-) the trick is for them to mature into a fine wine, which is the trajectory these guys are taking so far
Absolute turgid rubbish.....first couple of albums were incredible, this last one very dissapointing....live shows of this era no comparison to before
It's defo more subdued, not rubbish though. I mean cole is nearly in his 40's, I think the bands matured from jumping around on stage writing fast dreampop stuff ig
it's a shame that there's actually no one(?) who produces that dreampop oshin style music. there's a niche in the market and nobody making use of it.
