It fills my heart with joy seeing there are still fans out there making games for the great C64 in 2022. At commercially viable quality as well to boot!
You know what, I got my C64 in 1983ish and I don't remember it being this good. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the likes of Manic Miner, Paradoid, Slap Fight and Kokotoni Wilf (maybe not the last one, ha) but some of these graphics and gameplay are way beyond what I remember.
@@tazzatamania that is correct. New games are developed with 40yrs of experience of the platform. U know all details inside and out to make it to your advantage + u have unlimited time to polish the game as there is no commericial pressure to deliver in time nowadays. It’s all by heart.
If they had Mino trace, Terrestrial, Eye of the beholder, Duck hunt, We are stardust, The empire strikes back and Lykia out when i owned the C64 i would have never stopped playing. I use to love the us gold pack and ocean pack's with 6 to 8 games. Outrun, afterburner, Rambo, Operation wolf. Haha
It's nice seeing games still being made on the Commodore 64. But does anyone know if someone has tried making Undertale or Five Nights at Freddy's on the C64 yet?
Awesome video! Thanks! Any idea where I could get a hole of that Eye of the Beholder version? I would've loved to review it at some point for my channel.
Thank you. I have added the download links for every game in the video description below the chapters. Hope you will enjoy Eye of the Beholder. It takes some time to setup/get used to the controls, but then It plays very good!
Any of the developers wanna chime in on some info about development tools, time and other interesting info? I would love to know a bit more about them 😊
Puzzle bobble 4 years development CBM prg studio for coding and combining of all data. Goattracker (nm156 music sfx) Multipaint and spritepad mainly, dont know what the artist used (henderson art) Fast loader from Lasse And some homebrew converter tools to manipulate mc bits and sample conversion. Lots of research (codebase) and a handfull of testers to test it on different hardware.
I bought polar bear is space for this video but then I realised it has been released (digital) already in 2021. ´But I don´t regret to buy it because it´s awesome.
@@worldofretrogaming2248 I know what you mean - I think they released it the last week of 2021, and it didn't seem to get much media attention with a few big releases like Sonic at the time. Amazing game.

The best-selling computer always has something to offer. Everyone knows it, many had it.
Crazy how optimized and polished these games are
Nice to see atleast 3x games I contributed with music or sfx to on this list. More to come! ;)
Thanks dude! 🙂
I coded one! :)

Cool. Your name sounds Norwegian.
As a former video game programmer, I am impressed at how good these games look on the C64.
Eye of the Beholder just blew my mind! Wow!
1:35 harry, Larry, Barry
Naming genius 😀
Nice compilation of future-retro games. And the linklist is perfect to check them out!
How I wish I had a time machine. Some of these games are truly unbelievably well made.
What prevents you from playing them now? 😄
@KarpowSCX By todays standards, not any of these are jaw dropping. If you had seen it back in the day, you had been blown away.
I enjoy the new flavor in soundtracks especially Ultra Pong. Also cleaver names for Turdle and Tasered in the Crotch
the most impresive is eye of beholder.
Thanks for the compilation!

Munchkin is from the Philips Videopac G7000 tv-console
A lot of these look really good
Is that PetScii Giana? Cool!
The C64 still has its place. At least in my heart. Forever…
EOB for C64 absolutelly BEST!
Amazing!!! Who is creating those games!? They looks great
You can find a linklist for all the games in the video description. Most games are downloadable from their developers page on Itch.IO for free.
@@worldofretrogaming2248 Wow! Thanks 4 the info. Impressive
It's nice seeing games still being made on the Commodore 64. But does anyone know if someone has tried making Undertale or Five Nights at Freddy's on the C64 yet?
Stupid question surely. But those games, they all run on standard C64 ?? With no additional hardware ??
I played all this games on the Vice Emulator for Windows. But as far as I know, all this games should be playable on original Hardware as well.
Dammit, i need to sell my Amiga 500 to buy an C64
Will these plat like this on a standard un modded c64 ?
All the games should run on a standart c64 or emulator. However, some of them will benefit if you have super cpu for example.
I didn't see the Strikeback...
How do you play these games on your c64 today?
what is the all games name?
You will find all the names and downloadlinks in the video description!
@@worldofretrogaming2248 Thank you
fantastic!
Commodore 64 is still alive and will never die 🎉
While the Spectrum managed to make 250 games ))
There are 250 new Spectrum games made in 2022 only?
Why they doenst develop such games for Master System? ☹️
Yes credit required!
Yes AI Art
Die sind nach so langer Zeit echt bunter geworden. Aber nicht al le besser.
Comfy/10
I don‘t like YT Videos without narration, these are just lazy. Tell me about the Games. Who developed each title, some background etc.
Yes, but why ?
Because c64 is still alive and it is best 8bit computer ever.
C64 will never die. They still push it's hardware in demo scene too. On top of it C64 got a new mouse controlled OS in 2022.
These look great. Been a crazy year so not had much time to explore retro stuff, need to check these out
Empire Strikes Back is on a new level of insanely good!
Has a real attack of the mutant camels feel about it.
It's beautiful and technically impressive that is for sure, however the gameplay shown in the video seems to have a few issues.
Wow look at the KC Munchkin clone! Amazing job! Imaging the original probably programmed in 4k of total memory.
Good to see my game (RJA) on the list
Robo Jet Action is awesome, congrats! It has great music, very nice colorful gfx and it was really fun to play.
Awesome! Nice work!
Wow...an Odyssey2 port on the c64. I love it.
I’ve seen some of these while they were in development, but so many others to come out is a impressive!!

@@worldofretrogaming2248 Thanks a bunch! You're a gentleman and a scholar! ;)

"The Empire Strikes Back" looks like Attack of the Mutant Camels.
Hmpf, I miss BrainBreak...

Eye of the Beholder on c64? Wow!
Mino Trace! :O
Damn, those are great titles.
Great video! Love these year recaps. This year I really liked Terrestrial (and the mix of Raid over Moscow and Beach Head) and Polar Bear in Space.

Nice to see people porting newer games to push the limits of older hardware, bravo . the eye of the beholder and puzzlebobble were impressive.
My favs are: Orbital Rescue & Sub Chase :)
Yes cheat codes!
@@tomyyoung2624 Pardon? :)
Released* not made right?
BullSh@#$ this is no grapfics and no sound of C64. resolution does not match in Giana`s Sisters conversion. Got you
Not really :D You can dowload the games yourself and see (linklist in video description). They are all real c64 games ;)
Looks like a demonstration using pet character graphics. C64 has 2 resolutions it can use.
These games have some crap graphics and mechanics for being C64 games.
