@@Inkkari9 It does not work super well on the stock browser, but on K-Pocket its a bit better. Not amazing though. you have to leave it on and no playback when closed
Hey man do you by chance know what companies I can use prepaid option wise? Preferably minutes cause I want to carry this thing everywhere but mostly for emergencies.
Not looking to pay $30-40 a month. Much rather use wherever and whenever.
TracFone and US Mobile
My phone is updated but WhatsApp is not showing in kaiOS. Somebody please help
Put a SIM card on the phone. It will allow you to download again
The phone is banana...
does KaiOS have group messaging?
Yes. You need to enable the subject line, but it does have group messages.
What you mean enable the subject?
Can we install Java games from micro SD to Kai OS phone like nokia 8000 4g?
No Java for KaiOS as far as I know :(
WhatsApp isn't that big in this part of the world sadly. Does it have Messenger?
Messenger on the web for now. There is a messenger version and it works decent, but the web version works better.
Brother please tell me in very detail about battery backup?
2 days
is there a kaios phone with a full qwerty keyboard?
In India only. Jio Phone 2
can you delete snake from the phone? And would you recommend this since it still does have access to apps, maybe its just as distracting as an iphone. or is it slow/clunky enough that you wouldnt want to use apps such as reddit, youtube, facebook etc
You cannot delete the game sadly. But the phone works well enough that you can survive, but not too well that you would be tempted to use the apps
What's really the point?
It depends on who you ask :)
Hi I live in Hawaii and I was wondering if these will work here? I have straight talk wireless it uses Verizon towers so that besides AT&T is what works best here.... Please et me know I really love the Nokia Old school line. My 1st phone was an express music and I always wanted to get one of these Bananas phones they look so cool and retro. I believe these phones are to disconnect and live life not to be upset at its limmitation's....
Not on Verizon but only on ATT
@@JoseBriones bought the 6300 at best buy and it works with straightalk but still watching 8110 on eBay ships from RF so it may happen as the 6300 has an ultra flimsy screen and hopefully the 8110 is better
No showing Facebook?
I don’t use Facebook. Sorry.
@@JoseBriones No worries. I was just wondering if any functions were removed for the sake of running it on this OS. Thanks anyway broski
I need a good camera all the time with me. What's the option?
I’d say buy a camera instead of hoping for a great camera on a dumbphone. The best camera on a dumbphone right now is the Schok Classic though
Uber app / Uber web ?
Not possible. You need a more capable device.
@@JoseBriones thanks, i was thinking of the "xiaomi" duoqin f21, what i need is whatsapp and uber
Where were you able to purchase this phone? I would love a link and good source! Thank you
amzn.to/3mZ2z4y
thank you for your detailed review!! I've got a question: does KaiOS have Spotify on it? Is this phone able to download Spotify? :D
Not possible. Only Android basic phones have Spotify.
@@JoseBriones alright, thank you! :D
so there's Google Duo, I'm assuming that means we can get Google Voice too then
Only Google Duo, no Google voice as of yet.
@@JoseBriones oh thank you! I've been commenting on every video asking this lol, so I guess I'll wait
Where did u get the phone in the us?
Amazon. They come and go in and out of stock.
Does it support auto recording of calls ?
There is an app for that, so you can set that up for sure
how did you install telegram?
Banana hackers store. Google it and you can follow the step by step on how to add
Hi Jose : does it sync google address book with kai os ?
It does. It is a bit spotty though, so it would take a couple tries to make it work. But it will work for sure
Are there any news for Viber on KaiOs
It’s on the Banana Hackers store
It's a good review but I hate the fact that you skipped the Settings app
Sorry 😐. It has mainly basics for display, networks, etc. If you have a particular question let me know and I'll reply :)
@@JoseBriones Yea I just wanted to know what are the features they provided in the Settings. You reviewed other apps like really "in-depth" but you just skipped the most important app. To me reviewing Settings is important because it tells you what this OS is capable of in term of 'customization'.
Well that's ok, it's a good review overall
Does it have whatsapp web?
It does not have Whatsapp web
can you access messenger via the browser? thanks!
Yes. It is possible
@@JoseBriones Woow thanks for the reply! woaah, i will definitely purchase this if the one i bought from the online store wouldn't work (bought a refurbished Nokia C3 online, it's a good online store with mixed reviews, but hu knows.. i might be getting the bad egg 🤣) i will just have to buy this in our local mall..i now prefer this type of phones so that i can do my digital detox, minimize screen time and mindless scrolling, wish me luck! 🍀✨
AWESOME VIDEO!!!
From what i can tell this ATT only, not t-mobile for USA... i did see this "apn (dot) gishan (dot) net /en / apn / t-mobile / nokia-8110-4g"
It works on 2G on Tmobile (or it used to last year lol). But yes ATT is a better carrier for this :)
@@JoseBriones I’m T-Mobile & yeah they killing all their 2G... did you check out info in the link: wonder if that actually has an change on service behavior- maybe you could test.
@@dankestporter I'll try it out and report :)
@@JoseBriones cheers
@@JoseBriones will it work on a Verizon sim care
Hi. Thanks but... What about the contacts list? I wonder why it isn't even mentioned. Of course there should be a contact list in all phones but it would be nice to see it in depth, just like calling groups with different ringing tones. And speed dials, which is not obvious we will get in feature phones.
There is a contacts list :). Apologies for not being able to showcase it. The contact list allows you to set up speed dial and assign ringtones. It does not allow for groups, however. On WhatsApp you can do groups as it is part of the function of the app. If you have any extra questions, let me know :)
@@JoseBriones Wow, quick answer, thank you, that is more than enough for me. I am a classic Nokia 6300/6500 user nerd and time to time trying to switch to a 4G/hotspot enabled dumbphone with the capabilities of my old one. Now my only problem is the size of these new devices...
@@huntahthereal The classic Nokia's are the best! Check out the new Nokia devices that just came out with KaiOS. They are amazing reboots :). They just got released this week!
@@JoseBriones Oh, one more question about the contacts: can you add more phone numbers and other data to each contact? Thanks!
@@huntahthereal Yes. Address, email, etc.
Can you tell where the voWifi can be enabled?
It's under settings. The VoWifi is only for Nokia 6300 and 8000 4G however.
@@JoseBriones Thanks for your answer. Catphone says on their website that B35 has support for voWifi... We know now where this functions should be set (menu, network etc), but simply the option is missing there, so there is nothing we can set there... The service provider also has this phone on the list of phones where they offer wifi calling service...
Yeah. Without version 2.5.4 it is impossible to get VoWifi. As far as I know, the 6300 4G and the 8000 4G are the only VoWifi compatible phones because they are the only ones with KaiOS 2.5.4
@@JoseBriones Thank you very much for your info! We have CAT B35, and it should go with vowifi, but option is not found where it should be, so we do not see the option to enable it. The phone has Kaios 2.5.1. So why would the company list the phone on their website as a phone working with vowifi then? I am getting totally confused :) We have also contacted Catphones Support, but does not seem like they are able to help... Do you think it is possible that CAT B35 cannot update furthen than Kaios 2.5.1? On the top, the service provider which enabled vowifi as a service, also has this phone on their list of phones...
What about Nokia 800 tough? Does wifi calling work there?
Excellent video.
Do you have any update on KaiOS 3.0? Which maybe is in alpha testing and should be available in the middle of 2021?
I'm sure the experience would be infinitely better than this and would get many people to switch to a simpler dumb phone lifestyle.
No news on KaiOS 3.0 sadly. I am really hoping it comes soon and fixes most of these issues
This isn't really a dumb phone lol it has social media even
