- Easy to implement automatic RUST base lighting for when night time hits without lifting a finger, never blunder around in the dark again :)

Love these chill little tutorials
Cheers! :)
wow. ive been doing this completely wrong. ive been using a seperate panel to power the blocker. this is much more elegant. thank you.
No problem :) . I also do that too sometimes if I'm just using a Turbine for power separately. This is useful if power and panels are tight near the beginning of a game!
@@GenXGamesMeister i like to use the LED displays to show how much power is coming in. its a bit of a luxury, but i like to hang them by my fireplace and they look great!
You can change the color of the cables????
Yep, hold 'R' down when you have the cable tool in ya hand, et voila!! :)
since you have 1 extra power to use from branch to blocker, it's not a bad idea to add a switch for a little bit of control during the day
For sure wont hurt if needed!
Nice, thanks!
No problemo!
is it possible that you do the same with generators or can you only do it with Solar power
You can power the circuit separately with a generator but the blocker side port HAS to be run by solar otherwise it has no way to know when the sun goes down.
Hello :) i try it, but my lights turn off in sunset and turn on in daylight... what am doing wrong? :)
I would say you haven't got the blocker side input wired in properly as it gets some of the power from the panel while there's still light on it, this prevents power flow until dark. Look at time 3.47 and you can see clearly the wiring there :)
Is there any videos to do this with a turbine and timers?
I guess basically I’m looking for a way to learn to use a timer for official servers so the lights power on for 15 minutes and then the blockers are off again for an hour maybe? But without the use of solar panels granted the use for timers…idk it’s just a thought and you are very good at explaining things so hoping this could bring a video since I can’t seem to find one anywhere
The only clean way is to use one panel minimum just for the blocker or 1 panel rigged to a timer to activate at dusk and set timer for 10 mins and use the Turbine for all the power input to base. To get a timer exactly right without a panel (night time sensor) would be impossible as even if it were somewhat right on the first night as time went on it would slowly drift until the lights were not coming on at night but during the day, unless the timer was linked to an atomic clock :)
Yooo you know u were in willjums vid right!
Yup for sure, I mention it in the community tab, and on the comments on the night for the vid, I was watching it on Willjums channel when I was mentioned on the night it published, I was kinda... errr what did I just hear ?! :)
@@GenXGamesMeister haha wish it was me. love the content!!
@@Fadeclippers Haha, cheers!
What happens during the sunrise and dawn, where some solar panel receive some 4-5 power but is super dark in the inside of the base?
You may have a minute of sub par light when the electric goes off, but normally enough to see it is only a short time. This can be prevented by a more involved circuit featuring a timer, or angling the solar panel in such a way to allow lighting to stay on longer due to no sun detection until it is higher in sky but or course this would mean it starts up later :) .
