To sum up, this is about good days after a war. It is not political, it is more of a memorial one. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who was the commander and the founder of the Turkish Republic, and many other soldiers name were told. Izmir is a city in Turkey and Turkey got it's freedom by protecting the city. Lyrics give good vibes, nothing political.
Flowers bloom in the mountains of İzmir Golden sun there shines Defeated ennemy runs like wind Long live Mustafa Kemal Pasha Your name will be written on jewel stone this is the beginning of the lyrics, this is indeed a tribute song to the Turkish War of Independence after the 1st World War, Turkey was occupied by British, French, Greeks and Italians, a very weak, under armed Turkish army under the command of Mustafa Kemal Pasha and after long and fierce battles, defeated the allies and the defeat of Greeks in Izmir marked the end of the war, later the Republic of Turkey was declared in 29th October 1923 and Mustafa Kemal Pasha (Ataturk) became the first president. At the end of the song he cites the names of some martyrs, his grand father was among them.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk whose name is mentioned in the anthem is the founder of our republic. this s an anthem about the war of independence. empty seats is representing our martyrs and the names written on the seats are the names of those who died for our country
Not political, People know this march even in age 7 or 77 This march is thanking to our leader atatürk and his friends who figth against enemies in world war 1. In poetry part Singer is counting some of these legends names and say them "selam olsun" meams to hello but in meaning "thank you" In video the seats are reserved for them so their names are writing there. Also the singer is normally a rock singer but people all like this guy and this march get more liked after he perform this march. No Turk can watch it without tears, He is mentioning our immortal leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, which brought Turkish Republic from the ashes of Ottoman Empire, and many martyrs who gave their life without hesitation for the next generations to come!... so it is not politcal it is the heritage of an entire nation, it is our haritage and we are happy to share it...
March of İzmir In the mountains of İzmir, flowers bloom Golden sun sparks its rays there Defeated enemies they run like the wind blowing Long live Mustafa Kemal Pasha Embrace of the Prophet, stead of martyrs The trumpets are played, go along, dispatch! The tents are burned, don't drop back, Long live Mustafa Kemal Pasha I'm a Turkish son, death is welcome to me The soil, is my bed, my stead even if it's from thorn May the ones who turned back will be ashamed of Allah* Long live Mustafa Kemal Pasha
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk mentioned in the song is the founder and first president of modern Turkey. @@MasterOfWarLordOfPeace This is a victory march. ATATÜRK was commander of course and already march talks about him too. And march's name is Izmir march. Because the march was composed upon the liberation of Izmir from the occupation.
@@ErsenAsper People call it İzmir's March because it is about victory day, and that day was declared in İzmir, because Atatürk was in İzmir at the time, but thousands of kilometers-squared land was liberated in the last battle alone. İzmir is just the final location. The real destination was the Grik asses we kicked along the way :P
Short history(really): After the Ww1, ottoman empire(sided with germany) lost the war. The empire’s all african continental lands were taken and the post-war treaty(serv) divided modern Turkey’s land by 4/5 to foreigns. While Sultan signed the deal(since he also was prisoned in his palace by foreigners) Ataturk and his friends opposed this and convert the at-that-time guerilla defense into an army causing to defend current borders of anatolian peninsula and reform Turkey as a democratic country. İzmir(or smyra for greek name) was under the Greeks and the 1919-1923 war of the independence defined the current borders of Turkey as other powers left what’s given by them with Sevr treaty and Greeks lost the control over İzmir to fall back greek islands. This song remembers everyone who’s bravely fought(including women which carried limited supplies to soldiers and sold everything they own to the cause and help building clothes, gun rolls etc.) to the brave men who fought against modern powers with higher numbers.
