Tf main for years. I completely understand the micro mechanics of the champ but lack the game knowledge to use him as effective as possible. Best LoL guide I’ve ever seen. Thank you for this!
really informative video, i always write your advice down in a notepad, which i really recommend to anybody else watching guides/tutorials/gameplay. you wont remember everything from a 1 hour video.
Thx Lord, someone doing coaches for us. 1st person i`ve ever seen in my life that explained me everything that i needed and wanted to know. I`m returning to main Tf now and play it propperly :) Thanks a lot and keep like this!!!
Unfortunately I don't have a video specifically on spellbook but I kind of talk about it in the video. My main advice for spellbook usage is.. 1. Only swap after you've used a summoner. You get a whole new summoner spell while that one is down which is super nice. If you have the choice to swap both out and both are on CD, then choose the summoner with the longer CD usually because it gives you more time to use it. 2. Be careful with swapping out flash since you want flash to be available as soon as its off CD 3. Swap to a spell that you feel you need in that current moment. eg. more defense? Barrier/heal/cleanse More offensive? Ignite exhaust etc..
Really glad I found your channel and TF content. Viktor and TF have always been my favorite champs since starting this game in season8 and I've been favoring tf more and more and gave wanted to improve at him and I'm loving the informative content here. Good work
im a twisted fate one trick and this guide is on point. i loved when you put it "tf is somewhere between a turtle and a lion" lol this is so true also- this was a really good game. i struggle vs fizz more than any other matchup so i usually just ban him out of the way. great vid man
Im really happy i found your channel. You are actually making me want to play mid lane even tho its a lane traditionally played with champions i dont like. Your videos are extremely detailed and well made. Thanks for all the knowledge. This is extremelly helpfull even if you dont play mid lane yourself.
I always died at least 10 times in a game but just played a game with this strategy, had a perfect game of 4-0-6 against kassadin even after being a complete noob at csing and wave management. Two times kassadin roamed, I got two plates. I was able to stay in lane much longer and even bait kassadin multiple times. Superb guide.
As a TF's beginner I ended up knowing exactly what I should do in a incredible short amount of time thanks to you ! Kinda struggling with aggressive mid/jgl for stacking the wave nearby my tower. I hope its going to be better for the next games. Good video and good choice for showing 2 types of mid/jgl match up :)
Thanks for this Curtis! I just picked up TF in Gold and have gone 13W, 1L with him so far. Something I didn't expect is how well TF seems to do into long-range harass picks that are typically considered to have good waveclear like Lux, Xerath and Ahri. I've found that I can outshove almost anyone early if I choose to, and poke champs absolutely hate getting shoved in early. I can force them to only dps the wave while hugging vision, meaning they run oom quickly and even fall behind in CS. Meanwhile I take essentially zero harass from them and stay very healthy, which has meant I die to very few ganks as well. Maybe this is just a low-elo phenomenon, idk. Anyway, having a ton of fun with the champ and games have definitely felt pretty free with the low-level of macro TF can abuse. I like that I don't feel pressured to do anything flashy to win games.
I've been learning about wave management and as I have watched throughout the video it helped me a lot in gaining leads which I wasn't able to before when I'm playing TF. Thank you for sharing with us some very informative content and I learned a lot today ^^.
Just came across this channel, I’d love more twisted fate gameplay commentary. Or how to lane against the hardest matchups for tf? Idk, but I’ve seen a couple vids today and your honestly one of my favorite RUclipsrs now. A lot of learning that’s much appreciated. Thanks man keep it up
Thanks for the great guide! I've loved TF since I started the game but never really felt I could play him well, this helped me to understand what I need to work on!
Was searching for a Challenger TF, didn't find any good RUclipsr except midbeast's dopa reviews. Then RUclips recommended this. ❤️ ❤️ Great content bro!
@30:00 Flash towards tower first so that when you hourglass they have to sit around and take tower pressure, i'm learning a lot from this however, even as a d1+ player, really good stuff.
I am a new TF OTP, and a huge tip to other people while watching this video trying to learn and climb like me.. take your item page ingame and set it up and put notes in the descriptions from this video because this is alot of information to take in.
Hey man, recently fallen in love with TF over here and this helped me understand much more his strengths and how to play to them. I was previously a plat ADC main but I'm in Gold at the start of this season and have been trying to transition into being a mid lane main.. TF teaches so much about map awareness and stresses game knowledge that it's challenged me a lot but it's been a ton of fun. Nevertheless, this was exactly the content I needed and just wanted to say that you've earned a sub! Out of curiosity, what's the best way to send my TF questions your way? Is YT comment the best or is there another means (discord channel, league chat, twitter, etc). Thanks a lot man and have a nice day!
Awesome to hear man, he definitely stress tests your map awareness. Feel free to message me on my discord that's probably the best. thanks for watching :)
Hello, just find ur channel and i think it's amazing. I'm a big fan of DOPA tf, and i think you explained like a beast, congrats mate! keep the good work :)
Youngster, you taught a lot of people a lot of things, and I'm sure you poured a lot of your heart into the tutorial. It cost you a lot of heart to give away that much of your hard earned experience for free in a youtube video... But what you got out of that, among other things, was the experience of giving other people a helping hand up. ...in the grand scheme of life, you'll gain a lot more from having the ability to sell your talents, than to protect your LoL secrets. People pay good money to learn from someone who can teach, and you, good sir, just became better at teaching.
Thanks man, really appreciate the kind words. I love helping the community and seeing people achieved their ranked goals is enough for me :) Thanks again sir
I saw a couples of dopa´s videos playing tf an. d i wanted a full guide cos he´s always assuming thing i dont really get. Congrats for the video ,u talked about the essentials imo.
Damn, as a Fizz player, you're a savage, that's criminal. :D I can feel as well his frustration. But yeah, the feeling of using Fizz's E at his max capacity (dodging + damage) was too high for him I guess, while he could have just E to the side. Or play even more patiently and start W maybe, just to have a better time farming. Sometimes, you have as you said to accept reality, that you will miss some CS. Even if TF is not an aggro champ, I find your gamestyle very smooth and very interresting. Like that so something else than simply play the lane to make kill in a flashy one vs one. It's really more in depth, like from an higher elo. A bit like competitive gameplay, I feel. What a pity TF is so hard to play IMO.Very awkward to pick a card, knowing how to really attack in laning phase, get used to his CD (which feel really long when you don't play him often). I think he'll be better than Malzahar, but way harder to "feel". A last point, against that Kassadin, I am curious at the trade at 42:07. I think he missplayed it, and that's why the lane was that easy for you. He went for you while you had not the damage reduction from your resolve tree, Q + E and then immediatly back because you were walking at him, picking a card. I think if he was not scared and just accept that trade, walking backward and then instantly toward you because you followed him, he could have procc his electrocute + AA + Z, and a lot of people have no idea the damage output a Kassadin can deal at this level. Perhaps he might have succeeded in landing another AA on an extended trade, killing you (don't think so to that point but maybe) or forcing you to use your flash. Then he could have taken a way better reset and would have started a better post level-six laning phase.
Twisted Fate is a very difficult champ to play, it took me weeks of grinding to get the hang of him and I'd already been playing the game for 7 years before picking him up properly. So I don't blame people for struggling with him. I agree the Kassadin could have traded better, I actually didn't tether correctly either. Since I'm an old man I can't click fast enough sometimes so my auto spacing is a bit sloppy. But still I agree he can punish me more than he did in this lane. People do underestimate Kassadins AA damage especially with W early on.
I really enjoyed this video, but I'm also really frustrated at the Kassadin matchup here. I'm almost certain fleet tp kass can never get bullied like this in the early game by tf, and he can just trade hp for cs pre six, and then tp back with catalyst and the lane is basically neutralized at that point.
I agree Kass can go a way more defensive rune and summoner page to minimize, the matchup goes similarly but kass has way less threat onto me. And I can still push and roam. Although Kassadin is a decent counter to TF
First game that i tried this tactic i got a renekton mid running flash ignite and a yasuo top who quit the game, my botlane went 0/10 in 7 minutes. I had no idea what to do, but hey, second game was a clean win so thanks man. Looking to becom a TF main
@@CoachCurtis if you takin requests, a video categorizing different mid opponent types with some strat against them would be nice, or just a yasuo guide since he fucks me :D
Hello, I accidentally stumbled upon your channel and I find your guides being extremely useful & detailed, I'm not new to the game, but since I've been playing most of my life on the lower elo, I don't really understand some aspects of the game, such as runes. And honestly your explanation on the Spellbook runes really helped me out, since I've never given it a try before. I have a question about the runes, earlier in the video you mentioned that we should be going for either footwear/stopwatch depending on who we're versing, I was just wondering, when should we take footwear/stopwatch? And which one is the safer option if we're not sure about the matchups? Thank you and keep up the good work!
Great video, it made me pickup this champion and want to do this strat to climb. Ive started taking notes and repeatedly watched this video to all the information packed into it. One thing I noticed was your first ult at 19:50, I was wondering why was it worth to use it? Was it just precautionary, or did you do it for the ks or assist or some other reason?
In the moment I thought I was needed for the kill, I didn't assess that he was already dead. If I knew that he was dead then there would be no reason to use it :)
TF was my first main and with how much I hate the state of jungle now, perhaps we'll come full circle. I'd love to see you cover the strategic side of Ahri at some point.
@@CoachCurtis im gold tho, only about 10% of the time does shot-calling work lmao. Hoping to be plat by playing only tf ryze and ezreal. When should i get deathcap last item? Thanks a lot by the way.
Nice video, but low elo is more extreme than this. I watched another vid where you explained the strategy. I did exactly the same and won the lane, but other lanes are way too fed. Also, I see opportunities, but teammates simply don't follow my ult: fight happened right beside them, but they are farming jungle. This game happened 3 games in a row.
Hey dude, I like your content! I got your channel recommended by YT, I guess that damn AI knows what I like :P You seem a new content creator, keep it up!
Good vid, I tried the strat in my silver elo game, problems that arise : - My jungler doesn't defend plate mid when I R, doesn't gank me when I let the mid low life slightly push - Often other lanes hard feed / kill trade and I'm useless because they all can os me (~90 kills in 30 min) - Even if I stomp early midgame, my team doesn't understand how to finish a game, and we reach late game, and TF isn't that good late
As sad as it is, I believe he’s unplayable in silver solo q, tf relies a lot on a smart/experienced team, I recommend a different champ till your rank is high enough for your teammates to understand the plays you’re trying to make as tf
Been playing mostly TF during the last month, this have teach me a lot man. Thanks for this guide, would be awesome if you could make a guide to fight against zed, lb and yasuo
Awesome video. With the Rise of TF, and if/when he is picked/banned who/what do you play instead/into him? Also, any tips for early game CS? I was CSing with cards because melee was brutal.
I am silver and want to play TF. I have only been playing a couple months but I am playing to get better not to climb. Would it hurt to play him and get good with him??
If you want to play TF and love the champ then go for it! TF can be a really fun and satisfying champ to learn. He also requires solid mid fundamentals, so it's a fun champ to learn the game through.
I know I’m kinda late to reply to this, but I still had a question - what do you do when your lanes are perma pushing? How do you gank/exert pressure on the map? Also, what do you do when you’re behind early game?
Hi Couch! I'm a big follower, I always watch your videos but I don't comment too much because they are so long and I watch them several times haha. The first time I saw this video was like 1 month ago. Now I'm spamming Galio and TF in high diamond with good results using your teachings. I hope to reach masters soon! At 27:30 you say that you're not sure if your play was correct. I think if you had waited a little more before using your ultimate, they would've fight 2 v 2 and then you could've killed them. I think Olaf was scared by your ultimate. What do you think? Anyways insane gameplay. I love this strat.
Congrats, you’ve achieved what no man before you could. You’ve made me want to play TF.
Hahaha awesome to hear man! Let me know how it goes. It'll be tricky at the beginning!
It really is tricky, I was so bad at csing but then i got 6 and roamed so much and just helped carry the game going 2/2/15
Same !
I went 5/10/5
the crossman got rank 1 with TF in EUW btw
This is the BEST guide to any mid laner I've ever watched!

If I knew that he was dead then there would be no reason to use it :)
not even LS could delivery us this quality of content!
What an awesome compliment ! Appreciate it mate
Who is LS? :D
TF was my first main and with how much I hate the state of jungle now, perhaps we'll come full circle. I'd love to see you cover the strategic side of Ahri at some point.
Definitely a champ that I'll need to investigate more. Yeah the jg meta is a bit rough at the moment
this is amazing, first time watching ur video
Appreciate it mate
amazing guide wow. just amazing
So helpful, thank you for giving me goals for the game when I lock in TF!
Whats your take on your role / if tf is strong in the late game? Great video btw. Becoming one of my favourite lol youtubers
Generally if you are ahead in late game, you want to shove a side and create man advantage fights while someone reacts to side lanes
I got your channel recommended by YT, I guess that damn AI knows what I like :P
You seem a new content creator, keep it up!
Thanks for watching man appreciate it :) Yeah I've only been doing videos for around 2 months now so relatively new
Good vid, I tried the strat in my silver elo game, problems that arise :
- My jungler doesn't defend plate mid when I R, doesn't gank me when I let the mid low life slightly push
- Often other lanes hard feed / kill trade and I'm useless because they all can os me (~90 kills in 30 min)
- Even if I stomp early midgame, my team doesn't understand how to finish a game, and we reach late game, and TF isn't that good late
As sad as it is, I believe he’s unplayable in silver solo q, tf relies a lot on a smart/experienced team, I recommend a different champ till your rank is high enough for your teammates to understand the plays you’re trying to make as tf
Loving the Super In-depth Guilds break downs. can we get a Syndra one next lol
1 Step ahead of you, already workin on it :)
@@CoachCurtis this is why you the man
Been playing mostly TF during the last month, this have teach me a lot man. Thanks for this guide, would be awesome if you could make a guide to fight against zed, lb and yasuo
I can do that , just gotta get matched up against some of these champs in soloq. Will add this to the list :)
Man you are a real league of legends teacher
Appreciate it man!
@@CoachCurtis thank you!
Nice guide man
Thanks man appreciate it :)
I know I’m kinda late to reply to this, but I still had a question - what do you do when your lanes are perma pushing? How do you gank/exert pressure on the map? Also, what do you do when you’re behind early game?
nice guide ! it helped me a lot! greetings from argentina
Greetings from Australia! Thanks mate
Really good video I have learn a lot do you think ad tf is better than ap ?? Fore duel or fore split push ???
awesome video,more of that
Will do mate :) Thanks for watching
Thank u for this video :) I love TF but I always feel like I get handicapped because he is immobile and do low dmg
Edit: please make more tf videos
I'll have to do an updated TF vid for sure
Great vid
Appreciate it man. I think you are right, maybe wait a little for them to commit and then R.
