    Thank you for this...I am a printmaker and have not tried using a chalk pastel as a resist...and I am currently experimenting with combining trace monotype with various other methods in printmaking. I am excited to try this and appreciate the time and effort that went into providing this instruction.

    Could one use oil pastels?

      I'm going to guess that the oil pastels could interact more with the printing ink than chalk. It would be a interesting experiment.
