@seydoutraore2867 Your English was great, brother, and yes, over 90% of Nigeria has no running water. They dig holes, which are then used to pump water up an overhead tank and, from there, into the house. The water is not fit for drinking. The water on the island of Lagos, which is supposedly the affluent part of the city, smells like poo. After digging the hole, you must treat the water, or you could get poisoned if consumed. Over 70% of Nigerians go to bed daily without electricity. Urban areas in major cities could get up to six hours per day. One last thing: Nigeria is not the number one economy in Africa. South Africa, Egypt, and Algeria (in that sequence) are the largest economies. Nous vous remercions d'avoir apprécié la vidéo, et merci pour le commentaire.
Correction to your statement about the inexistence of clean pipe born water in Nigeria. Abuja actually has clean pipe born water that's supplied through a maintained dam. However, it only exists in Abuja, and most people aren't even aware. You're legally not obligated by law to tap into it when you construct your home. So, many houses still rely on the bore hole system. If you do choose to tap into the system, then you get either a monthly or quarterly bill. I'm not sure about the frequency of the bill receipt but I'm confident that the system does exists in Abuja only because I once rented a house that was connected to the city water system

It's shameful and pointless demarketing Lagos and Nigeria as a whole in a video that's meant to showcase Accra and Abidjan. This has been a deliberate act in all your videos. This is what you get when you let strangers tell your story.
The owner of this channel is a kindred spirit. He has the same concerns and misgivings as me. Kudos, man. I don't know if there's any hope for Nigeria as it is.
You're too critical of Nigeria. Neither Ivory Coast nor Ghana comes remotely close to what Nigeria is economically. Nigeria has a far greater population and any of these two countries, so the infrastructural challenges in Nigeria will be far greater. For example, Ghana's maximum electricty demand is no more tha 2800mw for the entire 90% of its populace connected to its grid. That's less than what Ikeja, a district in Lagos, alone needs, but current electricity demand in Nigeria is estimated at 30,000mw, and that is just the 48% of the country connected to our grid. Ivory coast has a maximum electricty production capacity of just 2,200mw. Nigeria's stands currently at 16,000mw. As for water supply, have you thought of what humungos challenge it will be running pipes through the thousands of streets in just Lagos alone? Not saying that's an excuse for Nigeria's failures, but please cut Nigeria some slacks.
@SeptagusFinanceAdmin Ghana enjoys a higher per capita income than Nigeria. Gross GDP is not a reliable indicator of a country's financial standing. The GDP per capita is a more reliable measure of a country's economy. Ghana's 5,134 megawatts vs Nigeria's 16,384 MW are, on average, bigger than Nigeria's, given that it is six times smaller. Côte d'Ivoire's average is about slightly lower than Nigeria's, or pretty much the same. Tokyo has 37 million people. The largest metropolitan area in the world. Water flows into every building. Shanghai, São Paulo, and Mexico City have a larger population than Lagos, yet water flows into every building. When a critique, firmly grounded in evidential veracity, invokes anger, that should be a prompt to reevaluate one's epistemological framework as it may be flawed. I appreciate your eloquent and insightful contribution.
@@BantuCityDiaries Nigeria had a GDP per capita of over $3000 in 2014, just before the current APC government came into power. It should therefore be obvious that Nigeria's present underperformance owes chiefly no the bad policies of this adminstration. That doesn't detract from the basic fact that Nigeria is a far better vibrant economy that both Ivory Coast and Ghana. My main grouse with your unrelenting bashing of Nigeria is that you never seem to want to acknowledge that Nigeria holds far more promise that probably any other economy in Africa, a fact that has been emphasized by lots of experts on the subject. For example, the IMF has projected that Nigeria's GDP could hit $1.8trillion in the next five years
We Ghanaians and Nigerians are just noice makers in Africa. Ivory Coast has better and well organized infrastructure than both of us. But our noice making gives us the false impression of superiority about ourselves.
If you judge Abidjan by the plateau area, you will be misleading your audience. Abidjan at large....i mean the Greater part of Abidjan cannot match greater Accra at any angle. I have been to both cities btw
@elegantlady1158 Watch again, and this time, listen well. Roads (streets, motorways, dual carriage, contraflow, etc), for Abidjan. Bridges (intersections, changers, etc) Structures (The achitectural blueprint of a city, its entire urban structure, etc), for Abidjan Public transportation, for Abidjan World standard five-star hotel: Abidjan has more, for Abidjan Average Salary: Abidjan GDP: Abidjan Size: Abidjan, more than twice Accra. Ghanians and their empty boasts.Ghana has never experienced any civil war,why is ivory ocast way above ghana then?Abidjan went through 2 civil wars, yet it is still on top of accra. Now,imagine ivory coast never experienced these wars, where would it be?
Nonsense Abidjan is not just plateau, you obviously don’t know nothing about Abidjan. As far as Accra is concerned it still an emerging city. 10, 15 years ago Accra was still a big village. Things are looking up for Accra but they haven’t catch up with Abidjan.
As a Ghanaian, I can tell you that most of the parameters you used in your comparison were misleading. You did not explore Ghana well and had limited information in your comparison. Look at the top 10 cities in Africa with GDP and you would know your comparison is misleading. Abijan is not developed than Accra bro.
Don't lose your voice dear, i know their plateau is quite good but Accra at large is way ahead of Abidjan. I have been to both cities. I guess thier new roads has also uplifted the face of the city. İf you judge Abidjan base on the plateau, your conclusions will be misleading. Accra as in Greater part of Accra looks and feel better than Abidjan. Mind you i love Abidjan. My opinion

@SeptagusFinanceAdmin
Ghana enjoys a higher per capita income than Nigeria.
@@BantuCityDiaries
Nigeria had a GDP per capita of over $3000 in 2014, just before the current APC government came into power. For example, the IMF has projected that Nigeria's GDP could hit $1.8trillion in the next five years
@@SeptagusFinanceAdmin You made excellent points there, and I agree to some extent. Thanks.
We Ghanaians and Nigerians are just noice makers in Africa. Ivory Coast has better and well organized infrastructure than both of us. But our noice making gives us the false impression of superiority about ourselves.
You are absolutely correct!
It's never true
If you judge Abidjan by the plateau area, you will be misleading your audience. Abidjan at large....i mean the Greater part of Abidjan cannot match greater Accra at any angle.
I have been to both cities btw

Watch again, and this time, listen well.
Roads (streets, motorways, dual carriage, contraflow, etc), for Abidjan.
Bridges (intersections, changers, etc)
Structures (The achitectural blueprint of a city, its entire urban structure, etc), for Abidjan
Public transportation, for Abidjan
World standard five-star hotel: Abidjan has more, for Abidjan
Average Salary: Abidjan
GDP: Abidjan
Size: Abidjan, more than twice Accra.
I can go on, to come here and pretend otherwise is unreasonable.
Accra is wonderful. But please don't tell me accra is far head of Abidjan. Be fair to Accra but Abidjan is ahead.

Chill out, bro! There is no need to get too emotional or sensitive about this. He pointed out Ghana's shortcomings based on his experience. It's a chance for us to see how people view us from an outside perspective. We'll beat them all in the next few years. Ghana is the gateway to Africa, and it will continue to grow for the better.

@@MarkNtiri That is his opinion, and it doesn’t mean that it applies to all Ghanaians, so beware of your generalization. I don't know where you get your GDP information but they are incorrect. Yes, Ivory Coast GDP is more than Ghana but not the amount that you put there. Please my brother. don't mislead the public. The GDP difference between Ghana and Ivory Coast is 1 Billion.
Ivory Coast 74 Billion and Ghana 73 Billion.
GDP in Ivory Coast is expected to reach 74.78 USD Billion by the end of 2024, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations. In the long-term, the Ivory Coast GDP is projected to trend around 79.64 USD Billion in 2025 and 85.46 USD Billion in 2026, according to our econometric models.
GDP in Ghana is expected to reach 78.51 USD Billion by the end of 2024, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations. In the long-term, the Ghana GDP is projected to trend around 82.20 USD Billion in 2025 and 86.06 USD Billion in 2026, according to our econometric models.
That 85 Billion is what Ivory Coast is expected in the coming years and that doesn't mean they have that Amount now.
