She also did a short cover of that song and since then a lot of fans waited for them to work in a song collaboration because they definitely have a great chemistry together. And finally, 2024 the long wait has now started. You should definitely check the song IU said she loves the most in D.O's new album "About time" (there's lyrics videos already out there) it's a very beautiful and sad song and I knew she would love that one he's very good at giving emotions and I'm sure as a fan IU would love to write songs for him they would be the ultimate combo tbh He's a very simple guy and likes simple happy songs and I feel happy listening to those too, but I personally like his sad songs or covers more and I know IU is the same this is the biggest difference btw them imo, she's more of an overthinker and detail oriented person and it's actually perfect bc they balance eo very well Btw his new song is Mars (happy and optimistic song) and IU's "Love wins all" song (more dramatic and sad) also mentions Mars! So much parallels btw these 2 and I discovered a few more watching this palette episode I'm kinda mindblown...many of the lyrics actually match them it feels like destiny OMG their chemistry and 10+ years history is quite unique their fans were waiting for that collab and I saw many comments wishing for them to act together as well

As IU said, before they were often promoting at the same time and crossing paths with each other but they just politely greet each other. I think it all started when Kyungsoo/D.O. released his song (the day he went to military 2019) That's Okay where he did the lyrics. IU really resonated with his song and recommended it openly. Kyungsoo heard about it and was happy (he often say we wants everyone who listens to his songs feel comforted and happy) So he also started listening to her songs and even went to her concert last March. And he did say that he chose IU's show bec its a good show and said "so I can sing with you" ❤ (I assume he was not able to with his earlier albums bec of his former company) I am guessing that is what happened cause back in 2018 he doesn't have an clue about her songs when EXO was playing a game 😅 So I am recommending his song too for you to react or just watch and listen/read. Its a beautiful song. So many artists have done a cover of it too. I couldnt find a live perf with good english subtitles tho. This is the most decent translation I can find. Back about 8 or 9 years ago EXO was on a variety show. His team had to name IU songs and Suho got mad at him when he said he didn't know any of her songs. There's a video out there somewhere of her talking about him and that clip. Sometimes I think they just lock him in a room when he's not performing. He is so sweet and respectful (and very humble) but he gets nervous and sometimes, as he has often said, his brain goes white.
