    George England 0-4-0ST+T
    Number 5 Welsh Pony
Built by George England, London in 1867, the locomotive was the first of the larger England locomotives. The locomotive ran until 1940. From 1984 until 2002, the locomotive was displayed on a plinth outside Porthmadog Harbour Station. The locomotive was restored at Boston Lodge with work starting in 2014.
The locomotive returned to steam in 2020, appearing in Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway carriage plum, as carried by the Victorian Vintage carriage set and was lined out before its naming ceremony at the Bygones Weekend. We see the locomotive in blue at the Ffestiniog 50 events, in green at the Steam 150 event, under restoration in Boston Lodge shed and then hauling trains during her first season and photo charter duties during her second season.

Actually, Prince is the basis for duke, not welsh pony.

I remember standing in the engine when it used to stand outside Porthmadog station when I was a kid in the 90’s, so good to see it restored and running.

Love steam trains. We have been on Ffestiniog train once, Welsh Highland 4 times. Started the grandchild on the small Llanberis and Fairbourne. Granddaughter has been on the Welsh Highland train. Loved it.

Welsh Pony is beautiful! She was very lucky to survive the cutters torch! Now the only unfinished business left is to restore Princess but they told me she will never be restored which is a shame.

I understand that they decided to not restore Princess because they want to keep her as a monument of the old railway 1830s-1946?
