I grabbed a Tmaxx and Revo. Just awesome
They are. Let me know if you end up preferring one over the other. Enjoy.
i have 4 of them.slash nitro,fun truck,jato wicked fast,slayer 4x4 pro,great truck for beginners.and the tmaxx 2.5 this is an awsome truck.see you on the next one.
Very nice!
I just bought 2 Revo 3.3
Very cool. I am thinking of doing a FWR only conversion since I do not use reverse much. I don't think I need it but the gears have more meat on them.
@@telecomandorc lol. I need it sometimes.
@@NitroMeep3.3 😅 So do I. But running after it is my excuse for exercise these days.
@@telecomandorc lol
I went with t maxx 3.3 for my son and another for me
I would have to say it is my favorite as it actually looks like a monster truck. And it is awesome with the Proline Trenchers.
I’m going to build the electric unassembled slash kit with my boys to bash around with. It’ll be their car so I thought I’d get myself my first nitro. Can’t decide if I get the rustler,or get the nitro slash. I don’t really want to have the same car; the slash in electric and nitro, that’s why I’m looking at the rustler. But a lot of people have said that the slash is better than the rustler.
Which nitro would you recommend I get knowing that I’ll have and built the electric slash to use with my boys. Thanks!
If the Slash build kit is the old version: ruclips.net/video/9lihqpwAwUg/видео.html
That is video 1 of the series I have.
Now to your question. It depends on the surface you will drive it one. Think of the Rustler as a short Slash. The Rustler has a 2.5 engine which is alright. The Slash has the better 3.3. I would not trade the 3.3 for the 2.5. The advantage the Rustler has is the body. It helps keep the inside less dirty if you run on dusty surfaces. That's about it. The Slash has a better front bumper just in case. The Rustler does not flip as easily. I would not Slash. The Revo 3.3 is fun too and has better clearance over grass. If you are running on grass, any Slash 2WD is a bad idea.
Between the nitro Rustler and Slash, I would go Slash. Plus if you ever get board with the Nitro Slash you can always turn it into a "muscle car" like I did.
Here is the basic build:

@@telecomandorc thanks for the response. I’ve been watching your build series on the slash, thanks for those videos.
The one I just ordered has the new brushless motor and lipo batteries.
We would be running it on street, dirt (softball fields, dirt RC track) and lots of grass. I do like the design of the rustler; how it has the tires on the outside, and its CG is a bit lower which helps it not get airborne as frequently or often during the speed runs.
I do know it has the smaller 2.5 engine, but reviews I’ve watched have said it’s sufficient for the size of the truck, since it is a good amount smaller than the slash. Makes sense why they put the 3.3 in the slash.
@@ericmanning8010 That makes sense. A few notes.
The HCG is far better on grass as it does not bog down as much due to less surface area scrubbing.
The nitro engine will die fast on softball fields if you do not change out the air cleaner after every tank. That fine dust will scratch up the bore. That is a plus of the Rustler body.
I really like the new motor (BL-2s) compared to the Titan. The run times are longer and it is a bit faster.
Enjoy what you decide to go with. They are all fun one way or another.
@@telecomandorc I appreciate all the good info and advice. Sounds like I better buy me some extra air filters and have them at the ready!
I'd be interested in the Jato. I have a couple of nitro Firestorms but they're only single speed. They accelerate like a rocket but always seem like they could do with higher gearing.
Since you mentioned acceleration, what do you think of an ST .28 engine swap. All of my 3.3 engine are running. But part of me wants a .28.
that's what I'm talking about .28
I had gotten a jato for my first functional nitro and I have a t-maxx 2.5 with a is.18 engine and forward only and I'm still restoring it I love the jato to bits but I wish the parts were interchangeable I eithier want the tmaxx or Revo 3.3 or just something for off road Im Stumped between all of them which one would you choose for off road
I share the feeling. I had the old T-Maxx and moved on to the Revo 3.3. Missed the T-Maxx so I got the 3.3. I prefer the newer longer 3.3 over the old or classis. Parts interchangeability is big. Since I build my Nitro Slash "muscle car" I have been thinking of taking the other Nitro Slash and replacing the ProTrac back to the original parts.
So I actually have a nitro sport right, I’ve got about 600 bucks in this thing lol, I’ve upgraded to the dynamite .19 engine, it’s spectacular, it’s a 2001 nitro sport chassi, and etc, I’ve gotten new wheels, different spur gear, clutch system, I run 30% in my dynamite, runs smoother and has a little more top end, os 8 glow plugs, I’ve also put a pull start on it I stead of the gay ez start, reduced weight severely, obviously I needed the 2,5 conversion kit, I’ve got a resonator pipe on it, overall it’s been an amazing project , I’m new to the hobby, and I’m ADDICTED, so many people say nitro sucks, tuning etc, but it’s just something that rlly you get to feel involved in, even the community, it’s non toxic, rlly just a place to get your mind off things and to converse about nitro! The what, like 120 hours I’ve put into this thing cleaning it before it has run, it’s always been something to run to when troubled, love the community, love the cars, and absolutely love the hobby, keep burning nitro
You are spot on. The nitro community tends to be down to Earth. Maybe because to the patience and attention needed for nitro (in good sense). I lose track of time and just unwind when running nitro. Your Nitro Sport sound wicked fast after you conversion.
If you ever get the chance to look at my nitro 101 video, I would appreciated. Let me know what I have missed or should cover.
@@telecomandorc I’ll check it out
tmaxx y revo los mejores
La verdad es que sí son maquinas impresionantes y divertidas considerando el precio accesible dado lo qué son. Aunque mi preferida es la T-Maxx ya que tiene más estilo camioneta monstruo.
