  • Wouldn't want to do this for a living, but feels good when done. Im dreaming concrete at the moment but this old Portuguese house deserves it. Every stage now feels like a transformation.

Everyone who watches your videos are pleased how much work you get done in that heat the trouble is we all properly dead jealous as so far this year in the UK we’ve only had about four days of hot sunshine the rest of the time it’s been cold and wet, and I mean wet

Here in Canada we’ve had consistent 25-30 C with high humidity. I can barely handle gardening, and my husband stays indoors 24/7. I’m watching this from my back deck under shade and a welcome breeze, but it’s 29C at 11:30 am. Yes. I am amazed with what Andrew accomplishes in this heat. Then the monsoons come.

Dogs are so smart. Go for the simple solution. A cool concrete floor, a bowl of cool water, and a bit of shade outside for a change. It's we humans who make everything more complicated. Silly us! Lol.
I've decided I'm a cool weather woman, so I'm hibernating when the temps hit 30+ degrees. It's ridiculous to hope for a blizzard in July, so I'm aiming my desires for the end of August. 😏
In Portugal, do new construction homes get designed with a basement? Considering the summer weather, I'd have thought a basement would be a must. It's easily 20° cooler than the ground floor.
Order your stones, tidy up, head for the beach and your juicy steak! Enjoy you weekend!

Good job! Two points my grandparents gave me years ago that helped me through life. Grandma said ' Rome was not built in a day' which I had heard so many times , except to my projects. Grandpa said notnto worry about codes and proper way to do things , one proper procedure changes and second poorly built houses might only last a 100 years , you'll be dead don't worry. Point is your doing well and your legacy will continue. Blessings from America.

Another great video, thank you Andrew. I agree with you that under floor heating is a luxury and not absolutely necessary if your funds aren't a bottomless pit. I'm still finishing off my house (a steel colourbond house above ground) and a wood heater is perfectly adequate in the freezing Central Highlands area of Tasmania. Wood is now very expensive but if you can get wood at a reasonable price then it's the best type of heat.
Hugs to Chris and Will 💓.

A nice thick layer of compost around the root area will feed and with the bark on top, and your irrigation system, your trees will reward you. Check with them re annual feeding programme. Keep calm and sparkle on!!😊🇿🇦Cape Town: 🥶
