Hi Brenee , my therapist thinks ur the best! I agree. Consider: envy might not be what we say when we talk about a vacation. To wish you go somewhere doesnt mean its attached to thd person at all. Because you likely wouldnt do the exact trip.. its abour wishing to have an experience. 2. We should have comparison for length and depth of emotions or experience. If you do that with envy…. Say : im at a 1 envy (like light and cheerful). Sort of like hos “mad” are you.. one being a bunny who Didnt get breakfast at the right time .. 10 being “postal” .. comparison helps us guage one anothers position. By alerting us to how we both can See eachothers see levels .. Tears “sea” level: im at Titanic level tears artfully describes how cold and alone.. how dark.. his many people effected. Etc. Versus.. im bahamas level sad…. Where dont have a care in the world. “Making up stories” and hiw often we do thst.. why and where these narratives.. why do we attach a sigh to mean negative. In Buddhism Emotions arent negative or positive.. they just are.. the narrative is social condtioning.. the Scripts are things we are telling each other to think and feel regarding a social situation.. When someone rises and then falls.. we dont have to feel or think in happy terms that someone falls. Thats conditioning we see play out but we could change that.. by openly disagreeing with that social construct and decide to change how we proccess someone elses moment of low point to embrace the opportunity to Rise from in endurance and strength.. by saying.. omg this is their “rocky” momenr.. this is their “hildago” moment…. Where they stay in the dirt.. or redefine resilience.. this is their moment in movies we all feel bad for Luke skywalker.. when hes down…. why arent we doing that for the one who falls like matildA.. where she stands up watching the kid being forced to have his cake and eat it to and cant keep up.. why not like children.. stand on our desk like “captn my captin” dead poet society and say! “Even when you fell.. we still see you” Or a jesus moment…where we go over and lift up their cross and say.. i got you… like you had me in my fall…. Thats what true narratives are… its saying…. The Fall is a chance to grow from the leaves…. And spring forward the next chance.. You are the narrator.. so you get to change your mind. Which changes the colors and emotions and shading…. How you do that will make that story become how others See it…. Ie.. if you are jealous.. people will feel it.. if ur like matilda and see the struggle and find energy and bravery to stand up and Excited face it and say “you can do it” the fallen one.. will feel inspired . Providing them with energy to bounce back … that fallen moment., that person hears “I believe in you”. To make the com-back.. csn make all the difference to tbat persons ability to be resilient and Strong. Or break and cry because they Need help to comeback.. they needed someone to say all the words…. And let them see which way they go .. Or the moment .. you put ur arm around the person you know they screwed up .. and you say.. Not your best hour… but i know you can Change it.. (so they dont feel alone)
